POP! The Art of the Geek Exhibition at The Michael J. Wolf Gallery

“POP! The Art of the Geek” Exhibition
The Michael J. Wolf Gallery & Nathan Sawaya Present...
A Special Art Tribute to Comic-Con International: San Diego 2014

First-Class Contemporary Artists Celebrate Comic Book Culture, Super Heroes, Sci-Fi, Fantasy and the Eternal Power of Pop Culture

What:
A smart, creative collection of artwork curated just for Comic-Con International: San Diego.  The group show highlights the artwork of a dozen established and emerging artists who have re-imagined the icons of pop culture in ways never before seen.  The exhibition is curated by Nathan Sawaya, the artist best known for his work with LEGO.
“POP! The Art of the Geek” exhibition benefits the Art Revolution Foundation, a non-profit organization that works to put art supplies into schools across the country.
“Pop culture and art have been tied tightly together through all of history.  Art is the purest reflection of what is exciting society at the time.  And there is nothing more relevant in the world of entertainment right now than comics and related art-forms.  POP! The Art of the Geek celebrates the blending of art and culture - all for a good cause,” said Sawaya.
