Jada Toys' Metals Die Cast Batman V Superman Toys

Walking the toy aisle at Target one day and we came across some new Batman V Superman toys and what looked really interesting was these Metals Die Cast Figures by Jada Toys. We didn't pick any up that day but took a picture of them and put it on instagram. We wanted to look into these figures more before purchasing them. Looking through the Jada Toys website and following their instagram account to get more info on what these were and how they were not your normal action figure or even designer vinyl figure. These are very different + they are metal die cast stylized figures.
There are 4 different ones to collect - Batman, Superman, Armored Batman and Wonder Woman in this first series. There is also the 6" Armored Batman with light up eyes and of course the Batman V Superman 2-Pack with a slightly different arm pose. In addition, each figure/set  has a brighter/different color variant version of each. The ones we picked up were the variant versions which can be found at Hot Topic or other hobby/specialty stores.

The normal/regular versions can be found at Target, ToysRus etc... The retail on the 4" figures are $9.99, 6" Figure $19.99 and the 2-pack for $19.99. The variant versions if purchased at Hot Topic is $16.50 for the 4" figures, $32.50 for the 6" figure and 2-Pack. We purchased the variant versions at Hot Topic when they had their Hot Cash redemption going on so that was a win plus we tend to like the colors better on these.

There is also the Batmobile which we have not seen in our local stores yet.

Here's our little review on the ones that were able to pick up at our local stores.

Let's start with this first one which is the 6" Armored Batman. The 6" version has eyes that light up.

Batman
These are metal die cast and the figure is pretty heavy. Not much articulation. Only the waist movies so you can pivot the legs left, right or straight. Unfortunately the arms do not move nor does the head. The cape moves a bit up and down but that's really about it.

Back shot of Batman
Pics above show the articulation in the waist.

Here's a picture of the eyes lighted up. Unfortunately, the bad part is that you have to keep pressing the button to keep the light on. Too bad there isn't a switch to turn it off an on so you could actually leave the lights on just for a little bit. Besides the limited articulation, this was one of the other issues that we had.

Armored Batman
The Armored Mask/Helmet is metal so be careful not to hit it against anything. No problem at all at putting on all the armor on Batman. More pics below.

Ok, Let's get to the 4" figures....

We'll start with Wonder Woman. All of the Metal Die Cast figures has articulation at the waist. Be careful with Wonder Woman as she can easily tip over and fall. 4" tall and twisty ties to keep the figure from getting loose in the package. Paint app is pretty good.

On to the next...
Forgot to take a picture with Superman in the box. Love this color of Superman which sort of teetered us into buying the variant color versions of these figures.
The only problem is with the paint issue on the top of his head. Unfortunately we didn't notice this until we took it out of the box. This was the last one at the store and even though we checked the paint on the face etc... We didn't check the top of the head to see the huge paint gash on his head. We have contacted customer service at Jada Toys and still waiting on a reply to see if anything can be done etc... Not holding our breath though so we'll just say this is disappointing and hope other figures won't have this problem in the future.

Next is the 4" Batman and Armored Batman figures.
We love these... Yes they aren't really action figures since they don't really move much. But if you like die cast and stylized figures these are definitely for you. We like the way they look and they look even better in a group. Just need to find Batman his Batmobile.

If you don't care for the light up eyes in the 6" version then get the 4" version for half the price. Besides the light on the 6" doesn't stay on unless you keep pushing the button.

Didn't purchase the 2-pack since the stores were all out of them but it's ok. The only difference is the different pose of the arms.

If you follow Metal Die Cast on Instagram, you will see that they will have Wave 2 coming out soon with Aquaman, Bruce Wayne Batman etc... plus they are expanding with Deadpool.

We like the stylized way that they look, sort of like vinyl figures just that they are die cast. We highly recommend this line as one of the coolest new lines of toys out right now. The price point that you see these at Target etc... are on point and definitely worth it. We would say to buy the alternate colorways if you like those versions better.

Overall, there were some things that we wished were a bit better but they are all minor things so we can over look them. For now, we'll leave you with our group shot of them all together.
