SDCC 2013 Toy Haul - Funko Fun Days POP!

Funko Fun Days always happens on Friday night during SDCC. This was our first year going since we weren't able to make it the previous years due to schedule conflicts. This year we made it a priority to attend. We purchased tickets when Funko announced they were up to purchase. The good thing about this event is that you didn't need to have a SDCC ticket to go to Fun Days. Fun Days is put together by Funko for their fans. At Fun Days, you get to meet other Funko collectors and the Funko Staff. You get to chow down on food and get a drink ticket.

Funko also give you a Mystery Box of Fun as you see in the picture above. No one is allowed to open it until Brian (Funko Owner/President) tells you to. After everyone is settled down at their tables and finished eating Brian gives his speech on what is in the works for Funko. One thing that really stuck in my mind is the fact that Funko will be producing toys in Japan (Make toys like Super7, their booth neighbors at SDCC.) For now we're keeping our eyes open to see what/which figures they will be making in Japanese vinyl.

After the speech was over, Brian inducted a few members from the Funko Funatic Messageboard into the Funko Hall of Fame and awarded one member with the Collector of the Decade Honor & Edition of 1 9" POP! This member literally has just about everything that Funko ever made. After that, was the Prize Wheel and they were giving out prototypes and limited edition Funko Freddys. Everyone there walked away with something.

There was a guy that got clocked in the head with a giant wobbler and later the same guy was in a fight with another guy over a 9" Funko Freddy. The box was smashed up pretty well. LOL! at the grown ups fighting for toys.

Our table didn't get much from the prize wheel lol but we got randomly tossed stuff like t-shirts and a few 9" POP! figures. After all the prizes and protos got handed out, now was the time to finally open our Mystery Box of Fun.

This is what we got in our box which was a common box of fun. Some got chase versions of these and some even got Crystal Freddy Funkos. If you had Brian's business card in your box you were able to get another proto from what was left on the table.

We all had a lot of fun. Can't wait for next year. Thanks again to Funko for making this event possible.
