Despicable Me Minion Mayhem Ride & Super Silly Fun Land

We stopped at Universal Studios Hollywood before heading to Wondercon. The Despicable Me Minion Mayhem Ride & Super Silly Fun Land just had their grand opening the week before Wondercon and just in time for Spring Break too. Before you even stepped inside Universal Studios, you could spot Minions. Above are a few windows with Minions. Below are more Minions.

Ring the surrounding houses' doorbells to see who answers!
Ok, let's get ready to go on Minion Mayhem!
Depending on how crowded it is, you either walked through this area really quickly or you wait in line in this area.
Since we were there early there really was no line. You can see there were interesting wall art throughout the area to keep guests entertained. There were also TV monitors that had Despicable Me / Minion Trivia. Below are some of the fun wall art we were able to get while walking briskly to enter another room.

Heading to the top to pick up the Minion Goggles for the ride!
Inside Room #1 where the Professor and Minions talk/interact on the screens.

In the next few pictures you can see the room decorated with Gru's Family Pictures and other Despicable Me decorations.
In this holding room area, you were allowed to take pictures/videos. We might have recorded this on camera but will have to check. Once the doors opened from this area you enter Gru's Secret Lab. In this area you couldn't take pictures or videos. Once Gru gives you your mission, you enter another room to start the ride. You sit down, pull the lap bar down and put your goggles on. The ride starts and lasts a few minutes. It was a fun ride and we because lines were still short, we rode it multiple times! Lastly, when you exit the ride, the room is a huge party and from there you enter the Despicable Me Store where everything is Despicable Me/Minion related.

You could take a picture with one of the Minions (forgot what they said his name was) with the Super Silly Fun Land wall backdrop inside the store.

 Check out the Minion Merchandise!!!
This is only a small taste of the Minion Merchandise. Of course you could also buy Gru, Edith, Margo, Agnes, Unicorn etc.... items as well. Once you exit Minion Mayhem / Despicable Me Store, you will find yourself inside Super Silly Fun Land.

The Silly Swirly Fun Ride - Wasn't open yet.
Ohhh Games!!!
We tried out the Space Killer Game but sadly during multiple races they were only giving out Evil Minion Prizes and not the Unicorn. Guess they rotate the prizes. During our race, we won and got to choose between an one-eyed or two-eyed Evil Minion.
"So Happy" (cue Pharrell's song) lol that we forgot to take a pic of him when we won. It probably would've been even better if we were playing for the Unicorn.

El Macho's Nachos
Vector's Grilled Cheese w/ Pulled Pork & BBQ Sauce
Minion Cupcakes (there were 2 different ones) This one has a twinkie inside a red velvet cupcake.
Since we exited from Super Silly Fun Land, we saw the back of the sign first.
Stop here for snack at Despicable Delights.

The Tram ride was moving too fast to get a good picture of these guys but the next time you ride the tram sit on your right so you can spot these 2.

Overall, Universal did a great job with the Despicable Me theme in their respective area. Looking forward to next year when the Simpsons area gets finished. We'll have a few pics of the Simpsons Area / Krustyland in another post.
