Big WOW! ComicFest 2015 Recap

Last weekend, The Big WOW! ComicFest was held at the San Jose Convention Center in San Jose, CA. This is the Bay Area's Biggest Comic-Con since Wondercon has not had a presence in the Bay Area for quite a few years now.

San Jose Convention Center
The weather was perfect. The show was great this year! It did get a bit bigger than last year or maybe we're not as jaded as we were the previous year. You can't compare this to say SDCC or Wondercon as those shows are filled with Movie/TV Studios. There were lots of artists and vendors selling their merchandise from cosplay weapons, replicas, toys, collectibles, comics, art, t-shirts and lots more. What we would love to see more of is indie toy makers. We know there are more of you out there!

Back again is the Bay Area Ghostbusters!

Also back was the BTTF Deloreon... For $10 you can sit inside and get your picture taken.

Yes, it is true that you can see everything in the exhibit hall in a few hours but you also get a more personable experience where you can talk to a vendor or artist and not feel pressured to keep moving or else you'll miss something. The environment is very relaxed. There was a small exhibit featuring Vampirella and Swamp Thing but there wasn't much of Swamp Thing. Only saw one thing of Swamp Thing in the exhibit so that was a bit disappointing. Pictures will be in the slideshow at the end of this post.

Below is a slideshow of all photos taken throughout the show. We didn't want this page to be slow in loading all the pictures. Also, make sure to check out our instagram HERE for pics posted while we were at the show.

Before we forget, Silicon Valley Comic Con had a pretty good presence at Big WOW! ComicFest. Instead of a mechanical bull they had a monster and if you could stay on for a good amount of time, you would get a Silicon Valley Comic Con T-shirt. If you didn't want to ride the monster, you could purchase the shirt too at the Big WOW! ComicFest booth. Not sure if Big WOW! ComicFest is now a part of Silicon Valley ComicFest which is headed by Steve Wozniak (co-founder of Apple) and his famous friends such as Stan Lee but we'll see. See you next year!
