LAUNCHES KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGN FOR ANTBOY:
REVENGE OF THE RED FURY
THE SEQUEL TO
THE POPULAR CHILDREN’S SUPERHERO FILM FEATURES A STRONG ANTI-BULLYING
MESSAGE
LOS ANGELES, CA
– Superheroes unite! Viva Pictures
is seeking a little help from fans of Antboy – the family-friendly,
international
hit about
a
12-year-old boy who is bitten by an ant and develops superpowers – to assist
in
securing a multi-market theatrical release for its sequel: Antboy, Revenge of the Red Fury. Directed
by Ask Hasselbalch, the highly ANTicipated sequel will be
available in theaters on July 3rd.
Viva Pictures is
hosting a Kickstarter campaign that will run through June 15th, with
the goal of raising $50,000, in order to finance a multi-market theatrical
release for the eagerly awaited sequel.
The funding will be used to secure theaters, create marketing materials,
and increase awareness of the film’s July 2015 release and deliver its strong
anti-bullying messaging to children everywhere. If the Kickstarter campaign misses its
goal, Antboy: Revenge of the Red Fury
will not be able to hit as many theaters, and therefore will not have as large
of an impact on as many kids as possible.
“This campaign
presents a unique opportunity for fans of the Antboy books and films and fans of
movies in general to be a part of the movie-making experience,” said Victor
Elizalde, President of VIVA Pictures, of its Kickstarter campaign. “Not only will they be able to be on the
ground part of getting this incredible film in theaters, they will be playing an
immeasurably important role in helping take a big bite out of bullying
.”
VIVA pictures is
asking that Antboy fans, in addition
to making contributions, help spread the word about the film’s Kickstarter
campaign on social media using the following hash tags: #Antboy

Antboy: Revenge
of the Red Fury is
based on the hit books by Kenneth Bøgh Andersen. Antboy once again finds his world thrust
back into danger when a new band of super-villains arise. The Terror Twins, created by The Flea
and fueled by his sinister DNA altering serum, wreak havoc on the city all while
Red Fury, a friend turned dangerous foe, attacks Antboy and those closest to him
in an attempt at revenge.
The
first film was an official selection of the 2013 Toronto International Film
Festival.
