WARNER ARCHIVE COLLECTION TOUTS FOUR FASCINATING PANELS AT SDCC


Warner Archive Collection takes nostalgia to new heights at 2018 Comic-Con International with four entertaining panels over the weekend – a Thursday afternoon celebration of the newly remasted Supergirl (1984), a pair of Saturday morning salutes to cartoon favorites Jonny Quest and the outrageous Aquaman of Batman: The Brave and the Bold, and an inside look at the cult classic film, The Queen of Outer Space.


Talent featured on the Warner Archive Collection panels will include the original Supergirl herself, Helen Slater; the beloved Jimmy Olsen of the 1970s & ‘80s films, Marc McClure; legendary film critic Leonard Maltin and his Maltin on Movies partner, Jessie Maltin; Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Eddie Schmidt; the best-loved voice of Aquaman, John DiMaggio; and some surprise guests (shhh!).

Supergirl 1984: The Warner Archive Collection Blu-ray!
Thursday - 4:30-5:30pm – Room 6DE
A generation before Kara Zor-El conguered the airwaves, a soon-to-be-legendary actress made her motion picture debut as the “Maid of Might” in a big screen follow up to Superman: The Movie. As an absolute fan-favorite phantasmagoria, Supergirl arrives in heroic high definition at last (after decades of demand) from your friends at the Warner Archive Collection (WAC). Join the original Supergirl, Helen Slater (The Secret Of My Success), alongside her Jimmy Olsen, Marc McClure (Superman, Back To The Future) and Warner Archive podcasters Matt Patterson and DW Ferranti as they shine the super spotlight at this caped wonder and reveal what's in store on the new Supergirl Blu-ray release. As always, moderator Gary Miereanu will have goodies for some lucky fans. Room 6DE

The Queen of Outer Space 60th Birthday Bash

One of the most noted (and notorious) science fiction films of the 1950s, The Queen of Outer Space – starring Zsa Zsa Gabor – may be turning 60, but we can guarantee she's never been more stunning thanks to an eye-popping new Blu-ray! Join legendary film critic Leonard Maltin (Maltin on Movies), Academy Award-nominated filmmaker and showrunner Eddie Schmidt (Ugly Delicious, In Search Of), Warner Archive podcasters DW Ferranti and Matt Patterson and moderator Jessie Maltin (Maltin on Movies) as they reveal more than you ever wanted to know about the Queen's finest film, as well as investigating the movie DNA of her cinematic Space Age relatives, like Forbidden Planet and World Without End. Also stay tuned for some sneak peaks of upcoming cult, sci-fi and horror films from the Warner Archive Collection.

Warner Archive’s Toonstock - The Outrageous Edition
Saturday - 10:30-11:30am – Room 5AB
An all-new "outrageous" rendition of the popular Toonstock, this time putting the spotlight on all-star voice actor John DiMaggio and his take on Aquaman and so many other memorable characters. Maybe Big John will even be game to sing-along with his "Aquaman's Rousing Song of Heroism." As always, the second half of the festivities will feature -- YOU! -- in the beloved Batman: The Brave and the Bold “Mayhem of the Music Meister” singalong! Join Warner Archive podcast hosts Matt Patterson and D. W. Ferranti and moderator Gary Miereanu for a melodious salute surrounded by surprise guests, interactive performances, and oh-so-cool Warner Archive prizes.

This Is Your Life, Jonny Quest
Saturday - 11:30am-12:30pm – Room 5AB
Warner Archive Collection (WAC) shines spotlight on everyone's favorite boy adventurer, Jonny Quest! Warner Archive podcasters Matt Patterson and DW Ferranti will be joined by fascinating animation authorities to look at Team Quest through all its incarnations – from the original swinging 60s spy-fi through its totally awesome 80s adventures and 90s TV movie, as well its more recent crossover with Tom and Jerry. Gary Miereanu will moderate … and give away some sweet Hanna-Barbera goodies. Come for the Action! The Adventure! And the Generous Prizes!
