Paul Kaiju's A Fistful of Dominoes

Paul Kaiju is one of the nicest artists around. This year he held his event at Gunnzo in Old Town, San Diego. The trek was a bit farther this year meaning you had to take the trolley or drive there. Free food and drinks were available for those that attended the event. This year, there were plenty of toys to go around so no one would go home empty handed. Anything that was not purchased was for sale through Gunnzo.

Thanks to Melissa for making these wonderfully delicious rice krispy treats with gummy candy.

The first toys to sell out were Paul's new figures Domino Jack & Mini Goon. There was also a pink Mini Goon that you could get in the blind bag. Unfortunately our pic didn't turn out.

Designer Con 2013 Recap - MVH & Paul Kaiju

This was probably one of the biggest event at D-Con that not only took over Paul Kaiju x MVH's booth but pretty much engulfed all the surrounding booths and packed the aisle. 2-days full of drool worthy releases & custom One Offs. This is big when other well-known artists are waiting to hear their numbers get called. A couple of pics is a bit blurry but was taken with a cell phone. Out of the 2 most wanted items we were able to get 1 out of 2 which is great and better than getting nothing. (Anyone want to sell their Sam Heinous Head?)

SDCC 2013 Toy Haul - Paul Kaiju's Seagool & Mini Boss Carrion

Paul Kaiju always has one of the best releases at SDCC. Simple pick ups were just a new colorway of Seagool & a Mini Boss Carrion. He also had an unpainted GID Seagool too. Paul released his first vinyl figures of King Jinx. King Jinx is the crab looking monster on the sticker in the picture. As usual there was a wide array of offerings with many new and old friends.

King Jinx was summoned from the “Hollow Earth HELL Trench”  By the notorious Captain Slugbeard!

This giant creature has the ability to create and command  thick PHANTOM fog, enveloping ships en route to major ports. It utilizes the powerful “Cobra Flash” on it’s forehead to send false Lighthouse warnings and scramble the ship’s communications , radar equipment, while they are enveloped in the thick PHANTOM fog. Confused, the ships are destined for destruction where King Jinx can feast upon the helpless crews and steal valuable cargo to fill the evil Captain Slugbeard’s  ever-hungry treasure vaults hidden on the dark side of New Catalina Atoll!"

This is a preview of Paul Kaiju's "King Jinx" Resin Figure. Paul keeps on cranking out one awesome sculpt after another.

"King Jinx was based off a Kaiju TV show concept a friend and I dreamed up in the early 80′s.

It’s been on my mind for many many years, and I decided it was time to “Tack it down” so to speak.
Molds next. 7 parts with 3 points of articulation. Wish me luck!"
