SDCC 2012 Haul: Funko's Metallic Alien POP & Sulley Bloxs

Funko was busy every day. The lines were extremely long. By the time lines finally died down. Of all the pieces that I wanted, I missed out on the 9" Sulley & Boo POP! set. I did manage to get the Toy Story Metallic Alien POP! & both versions of the Sulley Blox. The only issues were the usual paint issues as well as trying to not get a damaged or ripped box.

SDCC 2012 Haul: Golden Domo Bobblehead & Pirate Domo Qee

Dark Horse was the spot to be for Domo goodies. Dark Horse even had a small section of their huge floor space dedicated to a Domo store which sold the Exclusive Gold Domo Bobblehead. Limited to 1000 pieces. The Pirate Domo Qee was available at the Dark Horse store.

SDCC 2012 Haul: Nickelodeon's TMNT & Kung Fu Panda

The Line for Nickelodeon was crazy long to buy stuff.  I decided to go back at another time and the line was super short. Picked up a TMNT tote bag which I kept seeing workers using to hand out TMNT mini comic books inside and outside the convention center. Been a huge TMNT fan since they came out back in the 80's. Still have all the original TMNT toys too. Also picked up an exclusive Kung Fu Panda comic con exclusive t-shirt.

SDCC 2012 Haul: DKE's Summer Edition Android Set

Couldn't pass these guys up. This is the Summer Edition Android Set exclusive for SDCC and sold at the DKE booth. Comes in an awesome suitcase box. Awesome package design.

SDCC 2012 Haul: Le Merde's Resin Le Mini-Verse Burgerbuns

As always, when you're done at Gargamel's side of the table you have to head over to the Grasshut side where Le Merde has a little section for his figures etc... A new color of his resin Le Mini-Verse Burgerbuns was released. Well, it was a color that I didn't have yet so picked one up. So new for me!!!

SDCC 2012 Haul: Gargamel's Micro Figure Sets

Hujili's Ghost, Ojo Rojo, Sleeping Killer, Zagoran, Thrashman, Boris the Bee
Picked up the 2 sets of Micro figures from Gargamel at SDCC. I love how the sculpts have so much detail on such a tiny figure. These were a must have!

SDCC 2012 Haul: Toynami's Hello Kitty Chun-Li Plush

Another great item picked up was the Hello Kitty Chun-Li Plush by Toynami. This is a collaboration between Capcom's Street Fighter & Sanrio's Hello Kitty. This version was limited to 1000 pieces at the show and sold out. This is a great collaboration. Appeals to the Street Fighter & Hello Kitty Fans!!!

There will be a regular line release of More Hello Kitty & Friends x Street Fighter Plush as well as figures that were shown at SDCC. You'll also see other Street Fighter characters with Hello Kitty as well as her Sanrio friends.

SDCC 2012 Haul: Mattel x Disney Pixar Cars 2 Mater

Mattel x Disney Pixar Cars 2 Mater in a Tokyo Bathroom getting a bath?
Mater is supposedly getting a bath which is from a scene in Cars 2. Somehow the bubbles or soap makes him look weird. This was probably the weirdest toy purchased. Looks like he has a disease. The execution of the bubbles / soap suds was very poor. It also has working lights inside too. You have to pull out a tab underneath in order for it to work.

SDCC 2012 Haul: Mattel / Hot Wheels Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine

Mattel / Hot Wheels Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine SDCC exclusive. The Mystery Machine comes inside a Scooby Snacks box. The box you see above is the outer mailer box.
This is what comes out of the white mailer box. It really has Scooby Snacks inside. If you shake the box you can hear them inside. Not sure if it's actually edible food (don't really recommend eating whatever is inside). More pics after the jump.

SDCC 2012 Haul: Rotofugi x 64 Colors Glowing Grim Marshall

Another Rotofugi x 64 Colors exclusive was the Glowing Grim Marshall. I love Glow in the dark figures. When you put a bunch together it illuminates the whole room. If you picked up Gumdrop you have to pick up his pal Marshall. Awesome piece at another great price. Looks like Rotofugi is sold out of them. More pics out of the package after the jump.

SDCC 2012 Haul: Rotofugi x 64 Colors Bubble Gumdrop

Rotofugi x 64 Colors released their SDCC exclusive Bubble Gumdrop (Bubble Gum Pink). Great price point on these as well! These are so cute! I really like what's written on the back of the header card. Good news is if you weren't at SDCC you pick them up now at Rotofugi. More pics after the jump.

SDCC 2012 Haul: Rotofugi x Tim Biskup's Roto-A-Matic Helper Dragon Figure

One of the best pickups is Rotofugi x Tim Biskup's Roto-A-Matic Helper Dragon figure. The price point on this you can't beat. These were only $6! Big regret is not picking up a second one. There were 3 or 4 different colors available. There was yellow that was shown on Rotofugi's blog/website and there was also purple, orange and/or orange swirl. The one that I have is orange swirl. These all come with a certificate and tells you the date it was made, name of figure and color. I hope the Roto-A-Matic machine gets fixed soon. I need more!

SDCC 2012 Haul: Splurrt's Diggler

One of the pieces I was most excited about was Splurrt's Diggler which was available at Toy Tokyo's booth. Didn't get into the exhibit hall right when it opened since the line to get in was pretty long which was surprising since the year before there was hardly any line by the time I got my badge and headed to the line. I figured Diggler would all be snatched up so I didn't stop by Toy Tokyo's booth right away. Surprise! Surprise! There was quite a few still available. Made me super happy!!!

I really like the paint app on this and for some reason I'm liking more of the painted versions on both Diggler & Cadaver Kid. To me it just brings out so much more of the sculpts details.

SDCC 2012 Haul: Mattel / Hot Wheels Knight Rider K.I.T.T.

This SDCC 2012 Exclusive is Mattel / Hot Wheels' K.I.T.T. Knight Industries Two Thousand. There is also a chase version which the display case inside the box will have K.A.R.R on it instead of K.I.T.T. Look around the web or ebay and you will see. I got the regular version. More pics after the jump.

SDCC 2012 Haul - Uglydoll Power Babo & 10 Year Anniversary Wage

Oh look it's Power Babo from Uglydoll!!! Power Babo was this year's SDCC exclusive. If you were there and wanted to pick him up he was available every day of the con. On Sunday, around 1pm or so they were down to their last 4 with the Uglydoll workers holding on to the last of them.

Power Babo is too awesome and cute! How can you not want him?

Another guy who showed up was the 10 Year Anniversary Wage that comes in a box.
The 10 Year Anniversary Wage was made to replicate the original Wage plush that Sun-Min made for David. This is a limited authentic reproduction. There weren't too many of these released at the show.

SDCC 2012 Haul - Alex Pardee's Bunnywith Figures

We picked up Alex Pardee's Bunnywith exclusive figures from DKE. These glow in the dark. DKE released 1 Bunny a day. $5 each. When these were taken out of the bag, these smelled just like the old TMNT figures from the 80's/90's when you ripped them out of their packaging.

Definitely a highly recommended set to have in your collection. Probably one of the best buys at the con. Great price! They're small and won't take a lot of space. They Glow!

Oh and saw sample pieces of orange Bunnywiths at DKE's Booth. (see pic below)
These didn't sell out at SDCC and are currently available at Rotofugi & My Plastic Heart.

SDCC 2012 DOMO

Domo Creator - Tsuneo Goda
One of the best things at SDCC this year was meeting Domo Creator Tsuneo Goda. He had scheduled signings on 2 different days at the Dark Horse Booth. Fans needed to get a wristband in order to attend his signing. We were lucky enough to get a wristband and asked Tsuneo Goda for a sketch. (see below)

Fans of Domo were in a for a real treat this year. Not only were there exclusives that we'll get to in a bit but there was also a Domo Mini-Store filled with Domo merchandise. We have pictures too!

Some SDCC 2012 Freebies

So what were some of the best freebies or giveaways that you got this year at SDCC?

Here's some of what we were able to get:

Frankenweenie Mini Tote Bag w/Glow stick, pack of seeds & Pin

TMNT Hat

Super7 Drops Surprise Announcements & More at SDCC 2012

Super7 was back at SDCC this year and boy did they bring out lots of surprise announcements. Super7 was not playing when they said to expect surprises. Where should I start?

Super7 has teamed up with Hasbro and will be making Transformers products which includes prints, vinyl figures, drinking glasses, t-shirts & Super Shoguns of your favorite Transformers characters!!!!

If that wasn't enough, they're making Alien ReAction figures ( Retro action figures) that were never produced back in the day. They had the original prototypes from the line that never came to be on display. They will also be making collectible glasses. Pretty damn cool.
Oh and if you had the opportunity to stop by their booth, you could have your picture taken in front of the life-sized Alien Card back.
More announcements after the jump....

SDCC 2012 Super Magic Funtime Unit @ 5&A Dime

WOW! What can I say, Super Magic Funtime Unit was held at 5&A Dime. This event was put together by Lulubell featuring Grody Shogun, Paul Kaiju, Velocitron & Friends. Grody Shogun & Velocitron made it out from Japan.

The show was awesome and well put together. There were over 100 people at the event and people spilled into the streets. There was food and free drinks (if your of age that is). The only one issue was with the line order thing on how people were supposed to purchase. It was stated that when you got there you would pick your line order out of a hat/container etc... and that would tell you where you'd be in line.

At the last minute, not sure if this was because after all the tickets were picked that more people showed up that they decided to go the raffle route so basically if you had the lower numbers to get in first you were screwed until they called your number. They re-wrote numbers on sheets of paper and threw them in a bag and called out numbers one by one.

That was the only problem. I think they should've just left it the way it was before switching and that everyone who came later would have to wait since the people who picked the numbers out of the hat/container were there on time when the tickets were being picked.

Besides that, it was pretty cool to have a personal shopper help you get the items you want. There was a great selection of Grody, Velocitron, Paul Kaiju goodies. There were also customs by RealxHead, Pico Pico, Itokin Park & Skinner which all were great. Oh yeah and can't forget the yummy monster rice krispie treats that had gummy worms and eyeballs in them lol.

I hope Lulubell decides to do this again next year. The only suggestion is to figure out how they let people in etc...ahead of time and stick to it.

Check out a few pics from the show in the photo album slideshow below.
