Review - TMNT Raphael Hikari Vinyl Figure

So at SDCC, we wandered the halls looking for a vendor that sold Funko's Hikari figures. There were exclusives but we just wanted a regular version. So we picked up a TMNT Raphael figure (too bad they didn't have Michelangelo).  We also noticed that the packaging had changed from when they were announced back at Toy Fair where they were going to come in a nice display packaging with LED.

Raphael is a Limited Edition of 3000 which is their standard run. Not a huge fan of the hang tag on the arm especially since it doesn't stay still and if you move the box it has a tendency to hit the paint on the figure. The pics above was how it was purchased from the vendor. Raphael's feet was also falling out of the clam shell and that hang tag was upside down. The box was taped so we couldnt open it to fix it. As you can see the packaging is simple and does what it's supposed to do.

Here's the top and bottom of the packaging shown in the pics above.

Front
The quality of the figure is really good. It is a transluscent green with glitter. We did notice a few minor paint issues but you'll get that from time to time. The arms do move as does the head. Speaking of the head, we did manage to see a small piece of flash moving about inside Raphael's head. We haven't removed it yet but will. 6" tall. Prices range from $30 and up depending on the run sizes, exclusives etc...

Damn that paint issue on the mask.

The Tag says:

Funko Premium Quality

At the bottom of the box is the card that tells you the edition number of your figure. The card is taped down so it doesnt move around which is a good thing.

Final Thoughts - We give Hikari 4 out of 5.

The quality on these figures are really good for being made in China. The one we got had a couple of minor paint issues and has a piece of vinyl flash inside Raphael's head.

Packaging is simple. It's a box to protect and display the figure. The hang tag inside around the arm is ok but prefer if they had another place to put it because it does move inside the box and could potentially scratch the paint with it's edge when it transit.

Prices vary....certain retailers must get them cheaper than others as the lowest seen for the LE 3000 is $29.99 where other retailers have them in the $35-40 range. The price is about right for the size of the figure and edition size. The smaller the edition size the price will be higher as you can already tell from all the places that have pre-orders for the editions smaller than 3000.

If you like 'em buy 'em.
