HIGHLIGHTS FROM 12 DAYS OF SIDESHOW

Between December 25 and January 5, Sideshow's annual 12 Days of Sideshow showcase gave us the first look at a wealth of new and upcoming pop culture inspired statues and art from Sideshow and its partners.

Here's a rundown of all the new reveals...

The first reveal from 12 Days of Sideshow was epic!

This enormous Phoenix and Jean Grey Maquette will make an impressive centerpiece for any X-Men themed collection!

Inspired by Jean Grey's iconic transformation from Marvel's X-Men comics, this newly revealed statue features two fully sculpted figures in a fiery environment base — Jean Grey stands in the foreground, her mind wracked with psychic influence as Phoenix rises behind her with flaming wings outstretched. Jean Grey is dressed in her classic blue and yellow ‘90s costume while her Phoenix incarnation wears her distinct green and black bodysuit.

Tristan Eaton Launches Comprehensive Generative Art Collection entitled G.E.M.M.A.

Los Angeles, CA (January 4, 2022) - With his entry into the metaverse, Tristan Eaton has once again proven his artistic prowess, dedication to his craft, and sheer business sensibilities. While many dove headfirst into the world of NFTs space during the initial wave, producing content based on volume, Eaton waited until he had crafted truly unique ways to contribute to the digital art space. As a highly respected multi-disciplinary artist perhaps best known for his murals around the world, it made perfect sense that Eaton would take his work into the metaverse, but as a true innovator, Eaton prioritized revolutionizing the space, and has continued to do so with each drop.

Designer Con 2021 Recap

Designer Con 2021 had their own virtual con during the summer but they also had their in-person event held at the Anaheim Convention Center in November. There were still a good amount of exhibitors, artists etc... in attendance. Overall with how things have been regarding the health and safety protocols, the show was held and it was a solid event despite a lot of uncertainty with traveling and covid. Looking forward to all the shows that can be safely attended this year. Here's a link to our DCon Photos HERE. Enjoy!

A Look Back at Summer Slime 4

Photos by M.D.

One of the first in-person events for 2021 was Summer Slime 4 hosted by Creature Bazaar. Summer Slime usually takes place during SDCC. SDCC was still a virtual convention back in July. Virtual cons aren't the best but given the circumstances it is what it is most shows had to do virtual cons or cancel/postpone in-person events until things were better. Check out our event coverage in our album HERE.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! Welcome to 2022! 2021 was slightly better than 2020 but there is still some uncertainty with all these covid variants. Towards the end of 2021 conventions and shows were being held. Our team opted to attend a couple of events this year as things have opened back up. A lot of things have changed in the past couple of years since the pandemic regarding our coverage of shows etc...We've been covering and posting a lot less in the past 2 years but hoping that we get this site back on track and that we can attend more shows this year. Collecting wise, we've probably collected less than in previous years. Have you been collecting more or less in the past 2 years?

Here's to 2022 being better for the convention/show industry and that we can safely attend shows like we did before the pandemic.
