STAR TREK TO TRANSFORM SAN DIEGO INTO A STAGE WITH A “STRANGE NEW SPECTACLE” SURPRISE IMMERSIVE PERFORMANCES ON JULY 26 IN THE GASLAMP QUARTER

STAR TREK is about to boldly go where no fan event has gone before. To celebrate the launch of Season 3 of STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS, which premiered July 17 on Paramount+, “out of this world” dancers and performers dressed as the U.S.S. Enterprise crew are beaming down onto the streets of San Diego with a show-stopping spectacle.
On Saturday, July 26, the Gaslamp Quarter will transform into a living stage, as fans journey through five immersive, “strange new worlds” inspired by this season’s genre-bending episodes: a noir murder mystery, a zombie horror, a 60s retro mission, a Vulcan wedding, and plenty of sci-fi mayhem. This bold, live performance, created by JFI Productions and their performers, is more than an exhibition, it is a chance to step into the story. Star Trek performances will be popping up at the Interactive Zone at Petco Park between 3:00 and 4:00pm and outside the Paramount+ Lodge at Happy Does (340 Fifth Ave) between 6:00 and 8:00pm. Follow @StarTrek social handles to learn about additional performance locations.
This exciting activation will follow the “Star Trek” Universe panel, featuring exclusive back-to-back conversations with the cast and executive producers from the Paramount + Original STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS and the upcoming new series STAR TREK: STARFLEET ACADEMY. Plus, exclusive first looks, reveals and surprises! Moderated by “Star Trek” legend Robert Picardo. Saturday, July 26, 12:30-2:00 PM, PT, Hall H
“This performance is a love letter to STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS, a high-energy celebration that honors the heart of the series while exploring the edges of genre. Whether you're here for the sci-fi, the drama, the adventure, or just the sheer joy of it all, there’s something in this for you,” said Stephanie Turek, Creative Director and Choreographer of JFI Productions.
New to the franchise or a seasoned Starfleet captain, prepare for a memorable moment anyone can enjoy. Go beyond watching STAR TREK; this is your chance to experience it.
The first two seasons of STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS are now streaming on Paramount+. New episodes of Season 3 drop every Thursday through September 11.

San Diego Comic Con 2019 Recap

This year marked the 50th year that San Diego Comic Con has been around. SDCC was held at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, CA on July 17th (preview night) to July 21st. Before SDCC started, if you were lucky enough to get a badge to attend, you would be lucky enough to participate in the SDCC Portal for exclusives and signings. This year they gave out an allotment of credits for each day that you had a badge for. From there you would select what you wanted and could use the amount allotted per day for exclusives etc... You could use 1 credit or multiple depending on what you wanted. Entering or using the credit doesn't guarantee that you will win anything no matter how many credits you decide to use. It's still a random lottery draw. A few days after the portal closes, SDCC lets everyone know if they got anything they entered for.

Outside Events at SDCC 2017

Here's some of the events that were outside SDCC which features the Adult Swim on the Green, The Tick, Netflix, FXX, Fox, Blade Runner 2049, AMC Deadquarters, Mr. Mercedes, Syfy, Teen Titans, LEGO Ninjago, King Kong Skull Island and the Petco Interactive Zone. There are tons more events but these were what we saw. Lines for most of these were long with even longer lines during the weekend. Since most of the outside events are open to everyone including those without a SDCC badge you can expect to wait in lines for hours at all the outside events unless certain outside events require a reservation online prior to SDCC.

Pictures below show you some of the outside events.

This year they had Hello Kitty's House filled with Hello Kitty merchandise which was on display only. Hello Kitty was also available to take pictures with and of course to give you a Hug. For Hello Kitty's 40th Anniversary, they are seeing how many hugs Hello Kitty can get from around the world. They were also there to promote the Hello Kitty Con which takes place in later October / early November in Los Angeles. They were also doing free nail art and temporary tattoos. Frank Miller's Sin City A Dame to Kill For had a huge display during SDCC at the Petco Interactive Zone. (You'll notice that some of the cars are wet. That's because on Sunday, it rained.)

TMNT Pizza Thrower at SDCC

Inspired by the TMNT Pizza Thrower Toy was a real live version at SDCC this year in the Petco Interactive Zone. Unfortunately, we got a wee bit too excited with this and of course Pizza Hut was there giving out free slices of pizza so we got distracted from taking pics. During the time that we were there, the Pizza Thrower was not working.

Check out the pics of our free pizza from Pizza Hut below and of course we have a couple of pictures and short video from Pizza Hut & their PR Company.

Sleepy Hollow at SDCC

Sleepy Hollow was in the Petco Interactive Zone during SDCC this year for their Oculus Rift Experience. The pics at night is a much better look. During the day, you can meet the Headless Horseman. The line for this was long every day (no surprise) and sadly we didn't experience this.

Bumble Bee Tuna at SDCC

We ran into the Bumble Bee Tuna at SDCC in the Petco Interactive Zone. The Bumble Bee Tuna was there the same time as Michael Myers.

Eat Like a Boxtroll at SDCC
