Inside LEGO KidsFest 2013 - San Jose, CA

LEGO KidsFest 2013 was held in San Jose, CA (Bay Area) this past Labor Day Weekend. We were lucky to be able to attend the event on Friday of their 3-day show. The show was completely SOLD OUT.

We arrive a bit after the show started & picked up our Media Passes. All the kids/parents we saw were very excited and couldn't wait to get inside to see what this event was all about.  As you enter, you are handed an Official Show Program Guide and then you are greeted with the Welcome to LEGO KidsFest Sign that you see below.

Then you are will see 2 Huge Lego Men standing there greeting you as make your way inside.

We start out at the Duplo area on the left hand side of the floor where you will see some cool Duplo Displays and a Lion made out of Duplo blocks. Kids and Parents were having fun taking pictures with it and sticking their heads inside the Lion's mouth.
Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose Booth
Duplo Brick Pile! DIG IN!!!
A Big Attraction was the LEGO Museum that was on display which included Harry Potter & Cast, Lightning McQueen, Spongebob Squarepants, Superman, Darth Maul, Chewbacca, C-3PO, R2D2, Darth Vader, Batman, Iron Man and many more....Everyone was taking pictures with these awesome display pieces.

Legends of Chima anyone?
There were a lot of hands-on workshops for kids to do from Legends of Chima, Ninjago, LEGO City, LEGO Friends, Life of George, Hero Factory, Mindstorms, Galaxy Squad, Monochromatic Build, Star Wars, Games, Challenge Zone, Technic etc....

Both kids & parents were enjoying the giant pile of LEGO Bricks.

Here's the Bissell Sweeper that picks up LEGO Bricks. All the Kids were sweeping and picking up the LEGO bricks while their parents watched.

This is Creation Nation. They invited all kids & their families to create something and they will put their creation into the map of the United States. This was the first day so not much has been filled in yet but after the show is over you will be able to see the U.S. filled and completed.

Of Course they had their LEGO Retail store along with the LEGO Marketplace. If you needed a break they had the DK Reading Rest Stop where you could take a few minutes and read one of their books. If books isn't your thing you could stop by the Cartoon Network Theatre and watch some cartoons that were playing. Of course from all the excitement you might need something to drink or eat and they have you covered with concession stands and huge area to sit, eat and relax.

One of the biggest draw was the LEGO Master Builder Workshops. You get to hear one of the builders teach you new building skills.

If you read this far, hopefully the pictures didn't slow your computer or internet connection. Check out all the pictures below in our slideshow. We had an awesome time. We hope that the LEGO KidsFest will return next year so those who were not able to go this year will be able to attend.
