Nothing beats a road trip to LA except wildfires that shut down one of the main arteries to Southern California I-5 which is an essential freeway for those traveling up and down California. I-5 was shut down and we had to take a 5+ hour detour to hit the 101 freeway all the way west towards the Pacific Ocean. It was not fun, let me just tell you that. It was a super long drive and very frustrating. We didn't arrive to LA Comic Con until a few hours after it had already opened on that Friday. Needless to say we were tired and exhausted and just wanted to go to the hotel and forget the day we just had.
We eventually made it to LA Comic Con with a few hours left of the show. We stayed for a couple of hours on Friday and came back on Saturday to check everything out after we rested from the extremely long drive.
One of the booths that we wanted to get to was Refreshment Toy. They came all the way from Japan. Usually we see them at Designer Con but this year they decided to exhibit at LA Comic Con instead of Designer Con this year. They brought a long some of their newest vinyl figures too!
We haven't been to LA Comic Con since they changed the name of the show from Stan Lee's Comikaze. The show has grown a lot. It's a nice, smaller show compared to SDCC or Wondercon.
