A Closer Look - Super7 x Bwana Spoons' Frederick The Beetle

Frederick The Beetle - Front of the Packaging
The newest member to Super7's Monster Family is Bwana Spoons' Frederick The Beetle. Super7 & Bwana celebrated with Frederick Fest! this past Saturday. Check out our recap HERE. The first thing that you notice is the awesome packaging design for Frederick.

The header card once it is open and you bend the flap back and see the beautiful art by Bwana.

I must say, I am loving the attention to detail in the packaging. The packaging does make the figure stand out more. Frederick is awesome and I love the colors on him. He's cute and doesn't look scary or creepy like a real beetle. I'm looking forward to future releases. I think he's going to hang out with Boris the Bee now. :)

A Closer Look: Splurrt x Rampage Toys' Uglier Unicorn

Splurrt recently released their version of Rampage Toys' Ugly Unicorn which is called Uglier Unicorn. Splurrt did more than paint it, they sculpted the eye balls and tongue onto the figure. The Ugly Unicorns stands 4.5" tall. These are still available HERE for $50. Every Uglier Unicorn will have a 1 of kind expression. So no 2 will be alike. These are amazing and check out the pictures below for yourself. I have taken both indoor and outdoor pictures.

More pics after the jump.

A Closer Look: Paul Kaiju's Boss Carrion Pinkysnout Figure

My first and only Boss Carrion figure so far. This is the Pinkysnout version which was released at Designer Con back in November last year. A few of these were also released on Paul's website the same day as well along with another version. I love the colors and love the details on this figure. Boss Carrion stands 8" tall and has plenty of articulation in the arms, legs and head. The sculpt is amazing and just owning one of these is something special. Paul has a great palette when it comes to painting. All of the colors just go so well together. Every collection needs one of these in it!

A Closer Look - Copy Robot x RxH Little Softee Figure

Do you like Ice Cream?

Little Softee is designed by Copy Robot & Real x Head. It's another collaboration with Real x Head. This figure came out a few years ago. This figure is awesome! Most of the releases so far are released at the local shows in Japan like Super Festival or Wonder Festival. If you are lucky enough to find a store in the U.S. that can get any of the show leftovers, it's still not always that easy. Most of the time you just have to be on their website or in their store at the right time. It took me a while to finally luck out and get one.

Little Softee stands about 5" tall. It's a really cute and cool figure overall. Don' t you just love the details on the cone and ice cream dripping down one side of the cone? Enjoy the pics!

I hope to one day fly out to Japan and visit all the Shops and Artists that make these vinyl figures. If not, I hope more artists from Japan will come out to SDCC or other shows out here. Right now, there are just so many cute and cool looking figures coming out from Japan!!!

A Closer Look - Palisades Toys Sickly Stimpy Figure

The now defunct company Palisades Toys made one of my favorite cartoons, Ren & Stimpy into an action figure and mini pvc bust lines. Palisades closed their doors quite a few years back which was really sad. They were a great company but the whole action figure scene at that time was not that good.

Palisades Toys was a company that paid attention to detail on characters and accessories. One of my favorite figures was the Stimpy Variant called Sickly Tongue Stimpy. Every figure was always packed with a log in its own blister card. When things started to go down it was when these were showing up at the KB Toys Outlet stores (think these stores are now closed too) for cheap. Loved this figure a lot and purchased as many as they had to create the Sickly Tongue Stimpy Army.

Stimpy stands 5" tall. He came with a bunch of accessories including a log, litter box and a few others which are all boxed up and stored separately. The attention to detail is crazy. Love the tongue. Wish Palisades did not close down. Still need Sven!!! Another thing Palisades was known for was the crazy amount of accessories you would get with their figures. They were a great company that was always accessible to their fans at shows and on their forums. Miss these guys. Wish they were still around!

A Closer Look - Super7 Candy Kaiju Foster Unpainted Black Figure

Joining Super7's Candy Kaiju line is Foster, the Ice Cream Sandwich.

This Foster is an unpainted black version. Only released through Super7's SSSS. Foster stands 2.75" tall. You can pull the back off of Foster as well (no pic available). Sorry, there is no ice cream inside! This is interesting, maybe its going to be used for something down the line? The details are great for a small figure. You can see the little holes in the sandwich and you can also see he's eating an ice cream sandwich! He's going to fit in so well with Milton and Fenton. Cannot wait to see what colors Foster will come out in.

This version of Foster might be hard to get now but there will be more versions. If you need your Candy Kaiju fix, you can pick up the recently released Valentine's Fenton or any in-stock Fentons and Miltons at Super7 or select stores.

A Closer Look - S7 x IC Leroy C. Unpainted Black Figure

Invisible Creature's Leroy C. is one of the newest members of the Super7 Monster Family.

This Leroy C. is on an unpainted black vinyl. This version was released to S7's SSSS and around 30 of these little guys released via Invisible Creature's website (which is sold out). Leroy stands 4.25" tall. Only his head moves. We are looking forward to the first color version of Leroy just so we can see more of the details on this guy. Looks even better in person.

All of the Monster Family figures are about the same height. Don't worry if you missed this release, there will be more.

A Closer Look - S7 x Hour Of The Wolf Mummy Boy

Without further ado, here are more pictures of the Super7 x Hour Of The Wolf Mummy Boy.

This Mummy Boy is a clear blue soft vinyl with dark blue and light blue sprays.  He stands 6" tall. His head and left arm (the only arm) can move. What's not to love about this guy? It's not only blue but clear blue with 2 different shades of blue sprayed on.

For those of you new to collecting or just hiding under a rock, Mummy Boy is the Mascot for Super7. We like Mummy Boy because the design is simple and clean. So far every version that's been coming out is great and it seems with every new release the color choices are even better than the last.

We will have a full visual checklist of all the Mummy Boys that have been released soon on our website.
