New Year! 2024 is Time for Us to Get Back on Track!

Happy New Year! Let's start off 2024 with what this blog/site was before the pandemic. Just need to get back into this and not get burnt out. Lost some of that passion the last few years. Pandemic, injuries and just not mentally wanting to take the time to fully commit to this anymore. Collecting never stopped but just a lot of personal stuff with the day job, life, friends, family and this year mostly need to do better at balancing everything. Still have some of that passion to continue this blog / website. This year the loss of a few people in the art toy community was a huge blow to so many. Collecting is what brings a lot of people together. Collecting and this blog is my outlet and what takes me away just for a little bit out of the real world and the daily grind. It brings a different type of happiness that is hard to explain. With that said, it's time for this blog to rise back up and to start posting a lot more. Here's to 2024 being a better year for everyone! Keep on collecting!

Last Post For 2013 - Happy New Year!!!

As 2013 comes to a close, we reflect back on one of our biggest accomplishments this year. Our goal this year was to turn our sketches into sculpts. JoJo is our mascot figure. Spittelz is a spitting mischievious monster. JoJo is currently getting his body re-sculpted.

We have to thank the talented Maren Seibold for taking on this project. She is one half of the duo Hip Hop Robot Tattoo or HHR. Mark Bentley the other half of HHR casted these in soft resin. The lighter shade of resin is the first prototypes ever pulled. The darker resin is the latest versions that we got at DCon from Mark & Maren. Maren is a super talented sculptor. Check out HipHopRobot on Instagram to get a look at some of the super detailed and insane sculpts that she is working on.

Some other highlights includes meeting Mark & Maren at DCon. Meeting MVH and so stoked that Paul Kaiju shook my hand and remembered who I was after all these years of trying to get his toys lol. These all took place at DCon.

We are looking forward to 2014 and hope that we can move on to the next phase with the end goal being Japanese vinyl. We hope you like these figures too! We will see how things go in the coming months with funding for this project and maybe do a Kickstarter or some fundraising by selling toys. If any of the big companies out there like our stuff, we're definitely open to getting these produced with you.

From Everyone at Collecting Toyz, We Want To Wish You All A Happy New Year! Thank you for your support!
