Sacramento,
Ca – American McGee, the game designer for
“American McGee’s Alice” and “Alice: Madness Returns” will be joining Norman Felchle (“Alice” concept artist)
and Roger Jackson (the voice of
Cheshire Cat) as special guests for SacAnime’s Summer 2016 show. They will be hosting daily panels as well as
participating in exclusive autograph sessions.
SacAnime is returning to the Sacramento
Convention Center September 2nd-4th, 2016. The bi-annual anime/pop culture convention
is expecting over 20,000 attendees, many of whom will be cosplaying (costume
playing) as their favorite pop culture characters.
Dozens of special guests will be appearing at
the show, many participating in SacAnime’s Free Autograph Sessions. Guests
include Troy Baker (voice of the
Joker in “Batman: Origins” as well as Nathan Drake’s brother, Sam, in the
upcoming “Uncharted: A Thief’s End” and Booker DeWitt in “Bioshock Infinite” ),
Steve Blum (voice actor in hundreds
of animated movies, games and television shows including many
X-Men projects as Wolverine and the classic anime “Cowboy Bebop” as Spike Spiegel), Mary Elizabeth McGlynn (voice over actress, writer, singer and director who was the voice of Julia from “Cowboy Bebop”) and Roger Craig Smith (the voice of Ezio from “Assassin’s Creed”, Chris Redfield from “Resident Evil”, Captain America from “Avengers Assemble” and Sonic the Hedgehog from “Sonic Boom”). Also in attendance will be the cast of “Power Rangers Turbo” and many guests not yet announced.

Event highlights include a cosplay costume
contest, exhibitor room featuring hundreds of vendors and artists, karaoke
contest, video game tournaments, family friendly late night electronic dance,
panels and workshops, amateur art contest, kid zone hosted by the Sacramento
Public Library and much more.
SacAnime is open to the public and prides
itself of being family friendly. Pre-registration
is available on the SacAnime website for a discounted rate. Admission for all three days is $50 at the
door. Single day admissions are also
available at the door. Children 8 and
under are free. Participation in events
and access to special guests is all inclusive with admission to the show.
SacAnime’s first convention was held at the
Sunrise Mall in July 2004. It was such a
huge success that it continued to grow, moving to the Scottish Rite Center in
2005, then the Woodlake Hotel in 2009 and finally the Sacramento Convention
Center in 2013. SacAnime’s philosophy
has always been to provide a fun, safe, family friendly environment, with top
shelf entertainment, at a reasonable price.
Most of SacAnime’s events are included with general admission and many guest
celebrities sign the first autograph for free.
