Mark Nagata's Alien Argus Custom Group Show @ TAG

If you are in or around the LA area next Saturday, February 26th, Stop on by the Toy Art Gallery for Mark Nagata's Alien Argus Custom Group Show! Show is from 7PM-11PM. Mark Nagata & Fig-Lab gathered some of the best Kaiju and Toy Artists for this show. Many of the participating artists will be in attendance.

Leecifer & Paul Kaiju Show @ Super7

Leecifer & Paul Kaiju Show. Expect to see customs!!! The show is going down Saturday February 26th, 6PM - 9 depending on the turnout. Also expect new releases of their Monster Family figure! Leecifer will be debuting his Honoo The Flame and Paul Kaiju will have a special release of his Partyball figure!

 

From the flyer, it looks like Paul Kaiju will be bringing along some of his Boss Carrion figures!!! Also on Vinylpulse, they mentioned that Paul will be debuting his resin Seagools at the show too. The sculpt looks amazing!!!

Kozik's Stoner Fort Show Tonight @ Rotofugi

If you are in or around Chicago, Check Frank Kozik's new show - Stoner Fort @ Rotofugi Tonight!!!! Show hours are 7PM - 10PM. Frank will be signing from 7PM-8PM. There will be a DJ and Snacks!!! 2nd Toy Story Short

WOW! I LOVE TOY STORY!!!! It was sad to know that Toy Story 3 was most likely the final movie for the series but was very excited to know that there will be Toy Story Shorts. That's right! The first Toy Story Short will be shown before the new Cars 2 movie! Cars 2 is set to hit Theaters June 24th.

Disney & Pixar just announced that a 2nd Toy Story Short will be shown before the New Muppets Movie. The Muppets Movie will hit Theaters November 23rd. Looking forward to seeing both of them!!!

Disney Announces Cars Spin-off - PLANES

Disney announced yesterday that "Planes" a Spin-off of Cars will be a Direct to Blue Ray/DVD in 2013. It will be produced by DisneyToon Studios in Canada. Looking forward to hearing more details about this.

Jeff Lamm's Greasebat Release This Friday 2/18

WOW! Can I just say there are tons of releases this Friday! Pick up your Painted Chocolate Brown Greasebat by Jeff Lamm, this Friday, Feb 18 @ 6PM (EST) @ Monster Worship. If you're a die hard collector of Jeff's Greasbat, there was an unpainted Brown version that dropped today via the Greasebat Appreciation Society on Facebook. Looks like the unpainted version is now sold out but you still got a chance to get the painted version this Friday.

Don't sleep on this version! These guys are fast flyers (sells out fast)! You will not be disappointed! Awesome sculpt and great colors.

New Kidrobot 8" Dievas Dunny + Family Guy Mini Figures Release

Tomorrow 2/17 - Kidrobot is set to release another 8" Dievas Dunny by Nathan Jurevicius and also a new mini figure series from the Hit Fox TV Cartoon, Family Guy.

 

These will go on sale tomorrow @ Kidrobot and Selected Retailers.  If you are in SF, the 8" Dunnys are actually on sale right now as Nathan is doing a signing at KRSF. He will also be doing signings in KR Miami Tomorrow 2/17 and KR New York on Friday, 2/18. This Dunny is flocked. Better get yourself a nice display case to put this in as dust is not very good with flocked figures.

Ahh yes, Family Guy fans, this is a must have!!! Unfortunately, they do come blind boxed (when do they not?). Same Price point as the Simpsons figures. These look pretty good. They are not in scale with each other, same as the Simpsons etc... Might pick up a blind box or 2 just to check it out.

If interested in these, check some of the Select Retailers tonight at Midnight as a bunch of retailers will have these for sale.

On a Side Note: I used to collect Dunnys and a lot of product from Kidrobot. Been really let down the past few years with the quality of the products, since the majority of stuff that I have from them always have some kind of flaw be it paint, marks, etc... The rising prices didn't help either. It used to be justified when the product was very limited.  Just hoping one day they can produce something more original, unique and with that WOW factor!

Refreshment Cuppy

I love these! Simple, cute and just pure awesomeness. I had heard about Cuppy but was never sure on how to get them since Refreshment is located in Japan. By the time I found Refreshment's website and store, all the Cuppy figures were long sold out. Aya Takeuchi is creator/artist/owner of Refreshment.

It wasn't until SDCC 2010, when I saw these in person. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Needless to say I was so happy to finally get a few. These little guys are a bit under 3" tall. Will have a more in depth look later.

Spotted the Cuppy figures at the Fig-Lab / Crossover Booth (more on this later). I think I picked up a few that night and the rest the last day of the con. These were definitely one of the highlights of SDCC last year. I picked up all but the Rainbow version. The Rainbow version was a special one by Artist Shef in Japan. If you collect Kaiju or Japanese figures then you would notice that a lot of the rainbow figures were done by Shef. The Rainbow Cuppy was a bit tougher to get as it was released at one of the shows in Japan. I was lucky enough to order one from Refreshment.

Wonder Festival Nerd One x RxH Collaboration

Just happened to come across this on Nerd One's Website. The Nerd One x RxH Collaboration released at Wonder Festival a couple of weeks ago in Japan. ( All SOLD OUT). I hope they decide to do another release. You can't really tell it was a mix of 2 different figures. This figure turned out GREAT! If there was another release, I would definitely get one!
