Famous Monsters Film Festival
"We want your monster movies, your Sci-Fi epics, and your fantasies. We want your thrillers, chillers, and everything in between. Official entrants will be screened during the weekend of May 17th & 18th at Big Wow in San Jose, CA, one of the largest pop culture festivals in Northern California (just click around the site and check it out!). There will be special parties, prizes, and access for filmmakers. To enter your film, go here.
Categories will be broken down to reflect not only project length and format, there will be genre awards as well as production awards for cast and crew members. Here are the official entry categories:
Feature Film: Films over 60 minutes
Short Films: Films under 60 minutes
Screenplays: Short and Feature length screenplays
Animation: Short and Feature length animation (featuring more than 50% animated elements)
Top finishers in each category will receive prizes from our sponsors and—most importantly—will be featured in the August issue of FAMOUS MONSTERS OF FILMLAND. FM is one of the top selling independent magazines through Barnes and Noble as well as Diamond Distributors. The magazine has worldwide distribution with a subscribers list that includes some of entertainment's biggest names. FM has a long history of bringing new talent to the attention of the fans and we look forward to continuing that tradition with our FM Fest finalists.
The FM Fest at Big Wow is looking for films that are consistent with FM's legacy: horror, Sci-Fi, fantasy, suspense thriller, or anything just plain weird."
