Magic The Gathering x Spider-Man Activation at SDCC 2025 Recap

The Magic: The Gathering x Spider-man activation was pretty cool. We stopped by preview night which was a preview for press/media to check out. They had 5 different welcome decks that you could possible get. They had a comic book room where you can play the game or if you wanted to learn how to play they could teach you as well. They also had the Daily Bugle newspaper, comic book and plenty of photo ops. For press/media night, they served drinks, food and had a DJ. Overall it was a fun experience. Mondo Announces SDCC Exclusives Across DC, Marvel, Godzilla and More

Mondo has just revealed part of their lineup of show exclusives featuring stunning new collectibles and posters from beloved franchises including DC, Marvel, Godzilla, and more.

Marvel Contest of Champions and Google Play Team up To Take Rewards to New Heights at San Diego Comic-Con

SDCC 2022 Recap

Super late post but a lot of our pictures can be found on instagram. We will have a link at the end of this post so you can view our pictures from SDCC 2022. 

Recap- 2022 was the first year back in full force since the pandemic. What was different this year was that we had to get a wristband that showed we were vaccinated or had a negative covid test prior to attending. We had to stand in a line to show proof to get the wristband in order to get inside the convention center. For those of us that were there for 4+ days had to wear the wristband, the wristband took a beating lol. You probably could get a new one but why waste more time in another line when there was more important things to do. Everyone was required to mask up which was good because it was just as crowded inside the exhibit hall pre-pandemic.

Exclusives? Of course there were exclusives. A lot of companies like Neca and Mattel had pre-orders to have them shipped after the show. Others, you had to enter a lotto via the comic-con portal to get a chance to get a time slot in order to purchase exclusives. Towards the later part of the day when all the groups that got their chance to purchase exclusives, anyone could get in line to buy what was left that day such as Funko, Mondo etc... Hasbro had their exclusives released differently this year where you had to go to their booth to get a QR Code to be able to purchase their exclusives. Those were gone in a flash once the exhibit hall doors opened. 

 

Noticeably absent from SDCC this year was the massive WB Booth. Some booths that were usually in their same spots year after year moved to different parts of the floor. Funko had a huge presence and turned their huge space into Funkoville. Funko consisted of Loungefly and Mondo which they acquired a few months before SDCC. They also had huge POP! Statues of Squid Games characters.  

Marvel Minimates Ask “What If…?” for Diamond Comics’ 40th Anniversary

What if… all the Avengers had been turned into zombies? For those who watched the Marvel Studios What If…? series on Disney+, that was one of multiple realities, where Earth’s Mightiest Heroes became Earth’s most powerful undead! Now, to celebrate Diamond Comic Distributors’ 40^th anniversary, Diamond Select Toys has unleashed a set of Marvel Minimates based on that episode!

In this all-new six-pack, Sorcerer Spider-Man and Scott Lang’s Head in a Jar face (each with their own cape) face off against zombie versions of Captain America, Iron Man, Doctor Strange and the Scarlet Witch. Each 2-inch Minimate features multiple points of articulation, and all six come packaged in a hexagonal blister card. All were designed by long-time Minimates artist Barry Bradfield.

Minimates are celebrating their 20^th anniversary in 2022, including an unprecedented 19 consecutive years of Marvel Minimates. The 83^rd series of Marvel Minimates, starring the Fantastic Four, is available July 20.

Sideshow presents the Miles Morales Premium Format™ Figure, a dynamic new Marvel collectible swinging straight to your shelf.

When young Miles Morales is bitten by an Oz formula-enhanced spider, he develops strange superhuman powers. Miles’ new abilities, which include camouflage, increased agility, and a stun blast, eventually lead him to take on the mantle of Spider-Man.

 

Based on the hero’s iconic appearance in Marvel Comics, Miles Morales pops off the page into three-dimensional Spider-Man collectible form. The Miles Morales Premium Format Figure shows the young hero as he swings over the New York City skyline. The unique forced perspective base gives a spider’s eye view of Miles’ neighborhood, complete with a subway train making its way to the next stop on the line.
