Off the heels of LACMA’s Guillermo del Toro show, Gregorio Escalante Gallery presents a true Nightmare Before Christmas, with “DARK REALISM / DARK SURREALISM.” In the main gallery, Chet Zar and Greg Escalante approach the concept of Dark Surrealism - surrealistic images from each of the twenty artists on view's imagination. While each has a distinctly different aesthetic, each creates within the paradigm of the Dark Arts, searching for solace in a dark time. The looming threat of extinction, political upheaval, and warring religions on our minds have found a new outlet for expression, Dark Art acts as a means of finding solace amidst this upheaval. Artists on view include Sarah Elise Abramson, Samuel Araya, Tom Bagshaw, Ryan Brown, Nathan Cartwright, William Hand, F. This figure stands 11" tall and features a lot of texture and detail. It is also articulated at the head and hands. The ECTOPLASM Edition is cast in marbled black and glow in the dark vinyl. This figure will cost $200.

How many of you went to DesignerCon this year? We know that there a lot of people who couldn't make it this year and we did our best to try and get pictures of as many booths and toys as we could. As you all know the show expanded into yet another hall. The inflatable DCon in the above picture was new as well and there were street banners promoting DCon which we forgot to get a picture of.
