2011 SDCC Ticket Mayhem

Wow! In all my years of attending SDCC, this is the worst year to be purchasing tickets for Comic-Con. Comic-Con organizers tried multiple ways to sell their tickets this year and their servers kept getting overloaded. Back in December, they did a trial with Ticketleap and I guess they found it to work okay as today was the day (9AM PST) that so many Comic-Con goers attempted to purchase their tickets without a hitch.

Unfortunately, Ticketleap's servers were overloaded that it took people well over 2 hours to get their tickets. You had to keep refreshing through each step in order to get your ticket. So, if you are seeing the Over Capacity page, keep refreshing after every step. According to Ticketleap about an hour into the mayhem, they tweeted on Twitter that there were still plenty of 4-day tickets. It seems that tickets are held for 15 minutes before it's returned back to inventory. I think if they had told people from the beginning to keep refreshing through each step instead of pushing cancel, so many tickets wouldn't be stuck in 15 minute purgatory.

Today, you needed a lot of patience and hope to get the tickets you wanted. A lot of people gave up. Hopefully the Comic-Con organizers can come up with a better plan to sell next years' tickets.

As I'm finishing this up, most likely all the 4-day passes will be sold out. Good Luck to those of you still trying! EDIT: Well it seems as though all tickets sold out in less than a day! That is some record!!!

As the show gets closer and people request refunds, more tickets might be available. Just keep your eyes on SDCC's website or keep following them on twitter.

MVH x BEAK Sludge Demon Release This Saturday 2/5/11

MVH teams up with monster toy maker BEAK the creator of Kusogon for this special Sludge Demon release!

This VERY limited edition run of Sludge Demons is painted by both John (BEAK) and Rich(MVH). The moss green vinyl was layered and distressed by John then sent to Rich. He then added some light sprays to to the face and back as well added the black beards. 

In addition to the 4 painted versions there will be 3 unpainted Sludge Demons with a super bright long purple beards. Both painted and unpainted will be packed in clear jars filled with dry moss. There will also be an accompanying story written by john stuffed inside the jars as well as a top label on the lid with the MVH logo.

If this wasn't good enough John(BEAK) outdid himself and came up with this 1 and only hand painted Siamese Sludge Demon!

Super7 just announced their latest upcoming show. Leecifer x Paul Kaiju Customs Show which takes place Saturday, February 26th @ 6PM.

Just announced!!! Super7 announces their newest member of the Monster Family line. Artist Leecifer introduces us to Flame which stands about 4 1/2" tall. It is a great addition to the Monster Family line. I like the log legs! Guess its time to make some more room on my shelves.

Flame will make its debut at the Leecifer x Paul Kaiju Customs Show at the Super7 Store on February 26th @ 6pm.

The Android is an Asia exclusive but you should be able to find some as they are not too rare. The Lucky Cat Spiki is limited to 200pcs. Unfortunately, the pre-orders are all sold out. There might be more as they some were allocated to select retail stores. These are expected to drop mid February.

Josh Herbolsheimer's Earth Wolf Standard Figure by Medicom

WOW WOW WOW! Just announced today via Super7's Owner, Brian Flynn that Super7's own Josh Herbolsheimer and Medicom has collaborated on making one of Josh's characters Earth Wolf into a Standard Size figure. This is so true to Josh's style of work. Josh revealed that Cosmo Liquid sculpted his figure. It looks amazing and so much like Josh's painting style. Very well done Josh! You deserve it!

If you all don't know, Josh is the creator of the Vampire Rose in Super7's Monster Family line. It is the most popular figure in the line. Josh is also one of the main guys to contact at Super7 if you have questions regarding your orders etc... He is an awesome and very talented guy! Josh is super busy these days but you check out his blog here.

Can't wait to see more updated pictures and get more information. I want one of these to add to my collection! Congrats Josh!
