LA Comic Con was held September 26-28, 2025 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. We haven't been back in quite a few years. The show really has expanded using different halls for the artist alley, Horror Zone, Akiba Station and the main hall with a variety of exhibitors such as Refreshment Toy, Saturday Morning Cards, Dave & Busters and many more. One bit of advice is that if you need to park your car in one of the convention center parking lots, you really need to arrive early. Finding a parking lot with available space can be very hard. There are third party parking lots but note that they charge more than the convention center parking and even raise the price throughout the morning when they know people are desperate for parking. 

This show has really grown over the years and have a lot of different exhibitors compared to other shows such as Door Dash with their Giant Door Dash Bag giving out surprise gifts. You don't know what they will give you. Some people won iPads, Funko pops, external hard drive, gaming controllers, gift cards etc...or you can get a dud like a twinkie which someone did get and was not happy after having to wait in line. The wait in line did take a long time. Maruchan was also exhibiting at LACC and they had free sample flights of their noodles. The line for that was super long too. Yakult and Kopiko were there giving out free samples. If you live in the LA or So Cal area and haven't experienced LACC, you should. If you are local, rideshare would be your best bet to avoid parking headaches. Thank you LACC for inviting us. As of this posting, the dates for next year's LA Comic Con has not been announced yet. Heavy Metal and Genseven Creations are excited to announce their joint presence at San Diego Comic-Con 2025 at Exhibitor Booth #4804. Heavy Metal, the legendary sci-fi, fantasy, and horror brand, is undergoing a major renaissance. Genseven Creations, an independent publishing house founded in 2018, focuses on original graphic novels that deliver unique, character-driven narratives. Genseven Creations founder Allen Ling recently invested in Heavy Metal International as part of the strategic investor round and will help play a part in the brands future. Genseven will also present a selection of exclusive SDCC merchandise at the booth.

MeTV's Svengoolie at San Diego Comic Con

Don’t miss this spooktacular panel celebrating the greatest horror films and characters of all time, and the enduring legacy of Svengoolie as we explore the past, present and future of TV horror hosting. As the last nationally broadcast horror host on the air, Svengoolie represents a unique legacy in television history, blending classic monster movies with comedy and fan engagement to keep this beloved tradition alive since the 1970s – and on MeTV since 2011. This summer Svengoolie is excited to showcase some new movies to the Svengoolie library, including Earth Girls Are Easy which makes its MeTV debut on Saturday, July 26 at 8pm ET/PT, with the Sven Squad also taking over Svengoolie’s dungeon for the night to serve as official hosts. Attendees will get a SDCC exclusive Svengoolie and Sven Squad collectible trading card set and a limited edition Svengoolie button! 

Legendary horror host Svengoolie (Rich Koz) will be joined by members of his Sven Squad Sarah Palmer (Gwengoolie), Scott Gryder (IMP) and Bill Leff (Nostalgiaferatoo), plus Svengoolie Executive Producer Jim Roche. The thrilling conversation will be moderated by Dan DiDio, former co-publisher of DC Comics.

Mezco was one of the more crowded booths Saturday morning and you can see why, they went in heavy! Between new scary liscenses like The Owl Man from Lord of Tears and the upcoming film La Llorona and classic spooky favorites like Freddy, Jason, Pennywise and Chucky you can't go wrong. A large assortment of comic and movie heroes and villains were on display as part of their One:12 Collective line, featuring cloth uniforms. Also shown are Living Dead Dolls (including the Netflix Sabrina the Teenage Witch,) large MDS Mega figures, Burst A Box, Mez-itz, and a new line of Kenner styled figures called 5 Points. One of the most impressive figures was an enormous eighteen inch figure of King Kong, who rightfully had his own display case. Keep you eyes peeled for two upcoming reviews of Blade and Gomez, the two Toyfair only editions we got to bring home.

New Living Dead Dolls slated to be released between 2018 and 2019, including DC Universe and movie versions of Catwoman and popular horror genre icons, including the new version of Pennywise from the 2017 film "IT."

Being resurrected are the Living Dead Doll blind boxes, which we haven't seen for quite a while now. They are a welcome return for Spring of this year. Another nice surprise was a Ruberic-styled puzzle box from Hellraiser III. Beware of what you release...

Adding to their line of Mega Scale Figures will be Jason Voorhees, Chucky from Child's Play 3 and Raegan. The attention to detail on Chucky's battle damaged face was particularly well executed.

A display of past and upcoming stylized figures were on display along with a new Annabelle Awakening version of the titular doll, featuring an unpossessed color scheme. And if terrorizing small children is your thing, a new line of horrific Jack-in-the-box toys is being released featuring horror mainstays like Freddy Kreuger and the popular Pennywise.

Finishing out the booth was a new line of pillow-like plush called FlatZos. Coming in multiple sizes and an array of horror genre characters, these soft and squishy fiends feature chibi proportions and large button eyes (except for Jason.)

This year looks to be one to look forward to, filled with promising new releases and the revival of a few old favorites. Mezco Toyz always knows how to keep it spooky.
