Toy Customizing Workshop with Huck Gee & Carlos East

The Switcheroo Institute for Lower Learning Presents: Toy Customizing Workshop with Huck Gee and Carlos East (The Beast Brothers) at Hope Gallery Tattoo in New Haven CT, Sunday, August 28th at 1PM.

"Learn how to customize vinyl toys with the help of two of the best artists in the business as they team up and work with fans during this workshop at Hope Gallery in New Haven, CT.

The workshop will feature Huck Gee, one of the most popular toy customizers in the World, known for taking his unique Asian Pop style to 3D form; and Carlos East, one of the members of the Beast Brothers who is known for his highly elaborate customs that take detailing to the next level.

This unique and hand-on Workshop will be hosted by Nichole “Baroness” East, some of the topics that will be discussed will be History of Custom Toys, Character Design, Material Application, Priming and Finishing Techniques, Application Demonstrations, and of course presentations by both artists followed by a Q&A session.

The workshop will include an 8” Munny for you to customize along with all of the materials you will need to create an amazing custom. (Paint, Pens, Fabric, Flock, etc) At the end of the workshop you will take home a unique and special custom toy that you designed with the help of two amazing artists. And one very special participate will win a custom by The Beast Brothers at the end of the workshop!"

Taoking by Geof Darrow x Super7 and sculpted by Cosmo Liquid. Besides being an exclusive, Taoking made it's debut release at SDCC. Taoking is from Geof's Big Guy & Rusty the Boy Robot Comic.

Here's the 1st of many Super7 Exclusives that was picked up. Unpainted GID (glow in the dark) Earth Wolf figure by Josh Herbolsheimer x Medicom Toys. Earth Wolf stands about 10.5" tall.

Paul Kaiju also brought with him the 1st painted clear vinyl version of Seagool. Of course I had to buy this too! Inside Seagool you can see the shiny grass tinsel. Loving this painted version. Can't wait to see more!

SDCC11 Toy Haul Spotlight - Clear Seagool by Paul Kaiju x Lulubell

Paul Kaiju has turned his resin Seagool into Vinyl form by Lulubell. Paul brought a lot of stuff for his turn in the GFS/O'nell booth. He brought a lot of stuff. Sadly though I did not know he was handing out tickets beforehand and got a really high number but luckily I was able to get the Seagool which was my main want. The first one up is an all clear vinyl Seagool. Stands about 4.5" tall.

SDCC11 Toy Haul Spotlight - Clear Greasebat by Jeff Lamm x Monster Worship

Clear Greasebat with paper guts insert by Jeff Lamm x Monster Worship. What can I say, Greasebats are aweseome! No luck with his other figures Stee-Gar & M5 Bravo. There were only 5 sets available. Oh well there will always be more colorways. I was super stoked to get the Clear Greasebat as it more than made up for missing out on Jeff's other figures. Enough of me talking. On to the pictures:

Squibbles Ink x Rotofugi had a great number of releases at SDCC this year. Another exclusive that we picked up from them is The Lake Monsters "Baby Mossback" Snybora by Chris Ryniak. Amazing figure and was another must have exclusive from SDCC.

Mattel's Hot Wheels Franken Berry Die-cast exclusive. Like with a lot of Mattel's products they come in a mailer box which helps a little with the protection of the product inside. Check out the pics below:

SDCC11 Toy Haul Spotlight - Hot Wheels Back To The Future Delorean by Mattel

Next up is Mattel's Hot Wheels Back To The Future Delorean die-cast diorama display case. When Mattel first announced this as an exclusive, they did not show what was inside the box. The box itself was made to look like the Plutonium case as seen in BTTF.
Comes in a brown outer box.
Pull this out of the brown box.
Very nice Packaging design.
