Adult Swim Rocks SDCC 2012 with Panels & Signings Schedule

Adult Swim Rocks SDCC 2012 with their Panel Block  & Signing Releases. Panel Block is scheduled for Friday, July 13th at the Hilton Bayfront - Indigo Room (next to the convention center).

This year at San Diego Comic-Con, Adult Swim will once again own the convention room at the Hilton Bayfront – Indigo Ballroom (located directly next to the convention center) for a day of Adult Swim programming featuring creators, producers and actors from The Venture Bros., Childrens Hospital, NTSF:SD:SUV::, Robot Chicken, Aqua Something/ Squidbillies, and Black Dynamite.  Adult Swim stars will include Rob Corddry, Paul Scheer, Jackson Publick, Doc Hammer, Seth Green, and the Fonz himself, Henry Winkler.  Fans will also get an exclusive preview of some of the new series coming to the network. Fans can also stop by the Adult Swim booth #3949 to shop for exclusive items and play the Cat Grab for prizes.

Come watch a sneak peek of Childrens Hospital season 4 and hear from the show’s creative team, led by creator and star Rob Corddry and executive producer Jonathan Stern. They will be joined by members of the show’s ensemble cast of comedic heavyweights, including Lake Bell (How To Make It In America), Erinn Hayes (Parenthood), Rob Huebel (The Descendants) Henry Winkler (Happy Days) and Ken Marino (Party Down, The State). Childrens Hospital explores the emotional struggles and sexual politics of a group of doctors charged with healthy libidos. Paul Scheer (NTSF:SD:SUV::) will moderate the panel. 

Aqua Something You Know Whatever / Squidbillies

Show creators Dave Willis, Jim Fortier and Matt Maiellaro will discuss their original series, show footage from the new seasons, and answer questions.

Robot Chicken / Robot Chicken DC Comics Special

Co-creators/executive producers Seth Green and Matthew Senreich are joined by co-head writer/executive producer Tom Root, actor/writer Breckin Meyer and writer Matthew Beans to discuss the Emmy-winning series. DC Entertainment chief

creative officer Geoff Johns joins to the panel to share insider scoop about the Robot Chicken DC Comics Special. Come watch a sneak peek and get your questions answered about Season Six. Keith Crofford, vice president of production for Adult Swim, will moderate the panel.

Black Dynamite

Creators and voice talent from the new animated series, based on the 2009 feature film, will give an exclusive preview of the show and answer questions.  The Black Dynamite animated series further chronicles the exploits of Black Dynamite and his crew. Executive producer Carl Jones (The Boondocks) will be on the panel in addition to: Michael Jai White (For Better or Worse, The Dark Knight, Why Did I Get Married?), Tommy Davidson (In Living Color), Kym Whitley (The Cleveland Show, Brian McKnight Show), Byron Minns (Mongo Wrestling Alliance), Debra Wilson (MadTV), Orlando Jones (Rules of Engagement), and Cedric Yarbourgh (The Boondocks). Pantheon Books will be back at SDCC this year at Booth #1515.

Here's some of their highlights this year including giveaways:

Pantheon Books will be at this year’s San Diego ComicCon (July 12-15, plus preview night on July 11), and we would love to see you there. We are booth #1515, and we are sharing it with the other members of the Knopf Doubleday group, including Knopf, Doubleday, Schocken, and Vintage Anchor Books. Some highlights at our booth this year:

Returning to SDCC for the third year in a row is Charles Yu, debut author of the critically acclaimed How to Live Safely in a Science Fictional Universe. On Saturday, July 14, Yu will be in San Diego promoting his new collection of short stories SORRY PLEASE THANK YOU (Pantheon Books, onsale 7/24). Yu will be selling early copies of SORRY PLEASE THANK YOU at 12 pm at our booth (#1515) and will be appearing on the “A Wrinkle in Time” sci fi panel at 3 pm (Room: 23ABC). Men’s Health just named SORRY PLEASE THANK YOU one of the “Manliest Must-Reads of Summer,” hailing that Yu is “the next great voice in fiction . . . . Young author Charles Yu’s short stories beg comparisons to Kurt Vonnegut and Douglas Adams, but he’s funnier than both.” A reminder that back in 2010, How to Live Safely in a Science Fictional Universe was a New York Times Notable Book, an Indie Next Pick, a B&N Discover pick, #22 on Amazon's top 100 of 2010, a Time Magazine Top 10 Book of the Year, a Kirkus Best Book of the Year, and a San Francisco Chronicle Best Book of the Year.

Mark Z. Danielewski is the nationally best-selling author of House of Leaves and Only Revolutions, and next up for him is THE FIFTY YEAR SWORD (Pantheon Books, onsale 10/16), a powerfully chilling novella—a ghost story for grownup readers, which he will be promoting in San Diego on Friday, July 13. Danielewski will be on the “Art of the Thrill Kill” thriller panel at 10 am (Room: 24ABC), and we will be handing out party hats to everyone who stops by our booth ready to have fun.

Other titles to anticipate this fall include Charles Burns’ THE HIVE (Pantheon Books, onsale 10/9), the second part of a new epic masterpiece of graphic horror in brilliant, vivid color. The first in the installment, X’ED OUT, went onsale last year and will be available for sale throughout the convention, plus there will be special buttons and other giveaways at our booth for giveaway in anticipation of THE HIVE. Please also look out for Chris Ware’s BUILDING STORIES (Pantheon Books, onsale 10/2), a book with no deliberate beginning nor end, the scope, ambition, artistry and emotional prevarication beyond anything yet seen from this artist or in this medium, probably for good reason—we are quite sure it is something like nothing you have ever seen, and Ware has designed BUILDING STORIES booklets, which are teasers to the new book and available for giveaway to any and all visitors at the booth!

Comic-Con Style Guide Featuring Tease Boutique

Well this is a bit out of the ordinary for us to post but why not? If you're heading to Comic-Con, there's a new store called Tease Boutique that opened up in the Gaslamp District. Guys, if you left your significant other at home, why not pick her up something nice at this boutique? Ladies, if you need some fresh air from the con, check this store out.

Launched “For the Fans by the Fans”, Tease Boutique is brain child of long time friends, Carmen Strather and Steph Berkovitz.  Tired of constantly traveling to LA to find cool boutiques, they decided to open their own in downtown San Diego.  Now, in the heart of the Gaslamp District, Tease is the must stop shop for celeb-fave lines including Citizen’s of Humanity and House of Harlow, plus hard-to-find lines like Mink Pink, Wildfox and One Teaspoon.  After only several years in business, what started as a brick and mortar is turning in to a fully fledged brand, starting with their recently launched e-commerce site.  The dynamic duo now produces their own photo shoots and designs their own eponymous label.

Multiverse Studio's Announces Mega Man Bobble Budds & Pre-Release of Proto Man

Multiverse Studio recently announced their Mega Man Stage 1 Bobble Budds. The first series to include Mega Man, Proto Man, Guts Man and Elec Man.  

Each Bobble Budd figure measures 3.5-inches tall and features exclusive bobble head locking mechanism for optimal functionality and display.

Mega Man Bobble Budds will be available late July 2012 at select online retail outlets.

VH1 Classic's "Dawn Of The Con" SDCC 2012 Event

VH1 Classic's 1st Ever Official Comic-Con Attendee Welcome Party "Dawn Of The Con" which takes place Thursday, July 12th from 5:30-11PM at Petco Park. Dawn of the Con will be hosted by ROB ZOMBIE.

"Dawn of the Con" promises to be a night full of fantasy, science fiction, monsters and heavy metal. The night will be jam-packed with activities including: a digital photo area where you can pose next to the drag racer from Rob Zombie's video "Dragula," hourly limited-edition giveaways of one-of-a-kind illustrated collectible posters, and a T-shirt bar where attendees can choose from different limited-edition custom shirt designs and have them pressed on the spot.
