UCP and Peacock's 'The Resort' World Premiere at San Diego Comic Con
PEACOCK AND UCP’S HIGHLY ANTICIPATED MYSTERY THRILLER, THE RESORT, TO HAVE ITS WORLD PREMIERE AT SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON ON SATURDAY, JULY 23

the thriller begins streaming on Peacock on July 28
- The highly anticipated mystery thriller, The Resort, will have its world premiere at San Diego Comic-Con with a special advance screening of the first episode followed by a panel discussion moderated by Variety’s Michael Schneider featuring creator Andy Siara and stars William Jackson Harper, Cristin Milioti, Luis Gerardo Méndez, and Nina Bloomgarden.

- From award-winning producers Andy Siara (Palm Springs) and Sam Esmail (Mr. Robot), The Resort is a multi-generational, coming-of-age love story disguised as a fast-paced mystery about the disappointment of time. An anniversary trip puts a marriage to the test when the couple finds themselves embroiled in one of the Mayan Riviera's most bizarre unsolved mysteries that took place fifteen years prior.
- The series has an all-star ensemble cast including Harper (The Good Place, The Underground Railroad), Milioti (Made for Love, Palm Springs), Nick Offerman (Parks & Recreation, Pam & Tommy), Skyler Gisondo (The Righteous Gemstones, Licorice Pizza), Méndez (Narcos: Mexico, Murder Mystery), Bloomgarden (Hot Pink, Jane), and Gabriela Cartol (La Camarista, Hernán).
- Siara serves as showrunner and will write and executive produce the series alongside co-showrunner Allison Miller. Also executive producing is Esmail, via his overall deal with UCP, and Chad Hamilton of Esmail Corp, via Anonymous Content. Sarah Matte of Esmail Corp serves as Co-Executive Producer. Ben Sinclair (who directs episodes 1-4) will also serve as executive producer.
- The series is produced by UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group.
- The first three episodes will premiere on Peacock on July 28 with the remaining five episodes dropping weekly every Thursday.

Duffer Brothers and Netflix Announce Expanded Slate Including New Stranger Things Projects
The Duffer Brothers today announced their new production company, Upside Down Pictures, for film and television projects as part of their overall deal with Netflix.
Hilary Leavitt (Orphan Black, Ozark) has been hired to run the company.
According to The Duffer Brothers, Upside Down Pictures will “aim to create the kind of stories that inspired the Duffers growing up - stories that take place at that beautiful crossroads where the ordinary meets the extraordinary, where big spectacle co-exists with intimate character work, where heart wins out over cynicism.”
The Duffer Brothers and Netflix also announced their growing slate of projects in active development:
An all-new live-action television adaptation of the renowned Japanese manga and anime series Death Note
An original series from creators Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews (Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance)
A series adaptation of Stephen King and Peter Straub‘s The Talisman alongside Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment and Paramount Television to be created by Curtis Gwinn
A new stage play set within the world and mythology of Stranger Things, produced by prolific and multi award-winning producers Sonia Friedman, Stephen Daldry (The Crown, Billy Elliot, The Reader), and Netflix. Daldry will also direct. 21 Laps serves as Associate Producer.
A live-action Stranger Things spin-off series based on an original idea by The Duffer Brothers, with Upside Down and 21 Laps producing.

NBA Star De'Aaron Fox Heads To San Diego Comic-Con
De'Aaron Fox, drafted 5th overall in the 2017 NBA draft by the Sacramento Kings quickly rose to become the Kings' franchise player and team leader. Apple TV+ to Bring Severance, For All Mankind, See, Invasion, Foundation and Mythic Quest to SDCC
Apple TV+ today revealed a fan-favorite lineup of panels of its celebrated original series, marking its debut at the world’s largest fan-based convention, San Diego Comic-Con International. The panels will feature cast and creative teams from the hit thriller “Severance,” lauded alternate-reality series “For All Mankind” the acclaimed workplace comedy “Mythic Quest,” plus a not-to-be-missed panel featuring some of today’s greatest storytellers from “See,” “Invasion,” “Foundation” and “For All Mankind” to share their world-building insights with fans.
In addition to these must-see panels, attendees will have the opportunity - if they dare - to get “severed” as they immerse themselves in the world of Lumon Industries at an innovative “Severance” installation at the Hard Rock Hotel. The experience will take new Lumon employees through their first day on the severed floor where all of their senses will be required if they hope to be reunited with their ‘outtie.’ The experience is created in partnership with Ben Stiller and the show producers.
San Diego Comic-Con International is set to take place from Thursday, July 21 through Sunday, July 24. Dates, times and locations for all panels will be announced closer to the event.
