The Awesomes Season Three Synopsis
The Awesomes is the story of the greatest superhero team in history, and what happens after all the most powerful members leave.
In season three, the new Awesomes and team leader Prock (Seth Meyers) have finally been accepted by America. Their only problem: the team’s founder and Prock’s Dad, Mr. Awesome, has returned from space and he’s been infected with Dr. Malocchio’s evil serum and has a plan to destroy his own son’s team.
This adult animated show combines the thrills of comic book storytelling with the unique comedic voice of show co-creators Seth Meyers and Mike Shoemaker (Late Night with Seth Meyers).
The voice talent on The Awesomes are some of the biggest stars in the world of comedy. The entire cast of the first two seasons return: Ike Barinholtz (Muscleman), Kenan Thompson (Impresario), Paula Pell (Gadget Gal), Taran Killam (Frantic), Rashida Jones (Hotwire), Emily Spivey (Concierge), Bobby Lee (Sumo), and Josh Meyers (Perfect Man). In addition, the formerly evil Dr. Malocchio (Bill Hader) and the currently evil Mr. Awesome (Steve Higgins) return to earth.
Maya Rudolph (Lady Malocchio), Will Forte (Malocchio Jr.), Rachel Dratch (Government liaison Joyce Mandrake) and Amy Poehler (Prock’s ex-girlfriend Jaclyn Stone) all make appearances in season three.
New guest voices include Vanessa Bayer and Fred Armisen as Prock’s Mom and Stepdad, Andy Samberg as SeaMan, the ruler of the water, Chris Kattan as adventurer Indiana Johnson, Jack McBrayer as the cupid-like Villaintine, and Billy Eichner as The Gayfather, kingpin of the “Gay Mafia.”
Season three is executive produced by Meyers, Shoemaker, Broadway Video’s Andrew Singer, and Dan Mintz (Bob’s Burgers). The Awesomes is a Hulu co-production with Broadway Video and animated by Bento Box Entertainment (Bob’s Burgers).
