The EW Comic-Con Studio sponsored by LG G4 will include Media Partners Moviepilot, EW Radio on SiriusXM and Tumblr
NEW YORK, NY (July 1, 2015) -
Entertainment Weekly will explode onto Comic-Con 2015 across all
platforms; print, video, radio, and social media, making the EW
Comic-Con Studio at the Hard Rock Hotel the ultimate talent destination.
EW.com
will
deliver non-stop video content and commentary from the convention,
offering fans intimate access to the pulse of the city, a close-up look
at the memorable costumes that superfans wear, and a window into
the after-hours action that makes Comic-Con such a unique event.
Viewers can also get in on the festival action while EW’s award-winning
writers and editors interview the TV and film industries' biggest names
in the EW Comic-Con Studio sponsored by LG G4.
“Comic-Con
has always been about celebrating the fans and finding new ways to
connect them with their favorite actors, directors, showrunners and
franchises,” said Henry
Goldblatt, Editor of Entertainment Weekly. “We’re thrilled to
once again bring EW’s unique and unparalleled access at San Diego
Comic-Con to even more fans through partnerships with Moviepilot,
SiriusXM and Tumblr.”
The
EW Comic-Con Studio and LG G4 Hospitality Suite will be a one-stop shop
for the leading TV and film stars to promote their upcoming projects.
For the third year, EW
Radio on SiriusXM (channel 105), will air live interviews and coverage
with morning show hosts Dalton Ross and Jessica Shaw, and
News & Notes host Julia Cunningham with EW Senior Writer Kyle Anderson.
Entertainment Weekly
will also expand its already impressive social footprint at Comic-Con this year through a partnership with the
geek-centric pop culture platform,
Moviepilot. Moviepilot, www.moviepilot.com,
a leading entertainment fan site with more than 25 million unique
visitors each month and 29 million Facebook fans – with an audience that
skews young (80% aged 35 and under) - offers an easy to navigate
open-posting model, giving fans a voice with mass audiences
and building the next generation of entertainment tastemakers. The Moviepilot
and Entertainment Weekly partnership will bring together
Moviepilot’s team of expert fan correspondents as they are matched with their pop culture heroes
to create
interactive and synergetic out-of-the-box video segments
which will post on both EW.com and
www.moviepilot.com.
"Our mission since day one has been to open up Hollywood to the fans, and Entertainment Weekly
shares that passion," said Tobi Bauckhage, CEO and Co-founder of Moviepilot.
"We work a lot with movie studios on
connecting top fan influencers with the content they love. So the
opportunity to combine our fan base and reach with
Entertainment Weekly’s reputation and access at Comic-Con just made sense."
Tumblr
will provide a Tumblr GIF booth at the EW Comic-Con Studio, where
talent will be invited to stop by and commemorate their visit at
the studio with a fun animated photo. Entertainment Weekly will then post these GIFs on their Tumblr at
http://www.tumblr.com/ entertainmentweekly
so fans can experience some of the most exciting moments from the EW Studio and share them with their connections.
2015

which will be distributed on the ground in San Diego throughout the
weekend and can be purchased
