Los Angeles, CA (Feb. 17, 2017) – NEON, the new
distribution label founded by Tom Quinn and Tim League will partner with
Legion M, the world’s first fan-owned media company, on the company’s
debut release, Nacho Vigalondo’s COLOSSAL. The
film, starring Anne Hathaway and Jason Sudeikis, debuted to strong
reviews at Toronto International Film Festival in 2016, and subsequently
became the first film to secure invites from Toronto International Film
Festival, Fantastic Fest, Sundance Film Festival
2017 and SXSW 2017.
COLOSSAL features
Anne Hathaway as Gloria, an out-of-work party girl who, after getting
kicked out of her apartment by her boyfriend, is forced to leave her
life in New York and move back to her hometown.
When news reports surface that a giant creature is destroying Seoul,
South Korea, Gloria gradually comes to the realization that she is
somehow connected to this far-off phenomenon. As events begin to spin
out of control, Gloria must determine why her seemingly
insignificant existence has such a colossal effect on the fate of the
world. Jason Sudeikis, Dan Stevens, Austin Stowell and Tim Blake Nelson
also star.
“Legion M’s mission
is to unite passionate fans together to bring refreshing new ideas to
the screen” said Paul Scanlan, Cofounder of Legion M. “We are thrilled
to be partnering with NEON, a company who
embodies this same refrain, to introduce this wildly imaginative film
as a first of many projects to come.”
COLOSSAL was written and directed by Nacho Vigalondo and produced by Route One Entertainment, Voltage Pictures and Nahikari Ipiña. NEON will release COLOSSAL in theaters on April 7, 2017.
