| Hank Hill walking around outside the King of the Hill Offsite |
SDCC 2025 was just as epic as preview years. This year we focused on a lot of the offsite activation that were held all around the convention center and throughout the Gaslamp / downtown SD area. The exhibition hall is huge every year. Most companies that have exclusives have their own rules/handling of how their exclusives will be sold. All of that is usually announced through their socials or website. The big ones that attracts the biggest fan base with highly sought after exclusives were Mattel, Funko, Pop Mart, 100% Soft, UCC Distributing and more.
One of the most epic things we saw inside the exhibit hall this year was at the LEGO booth! They built SDCC, convention center and booths!!!
Below is our slideshow that we posted on our Instagram account.
We didn't take too many pictures this year as it was very crowded inside and taking good pictures is challenging especially with a limited team and our schedule was packed with a lot of offsite activations. One of the things that we wish Comic Con would consider is how challenging it is to take pictures of booths and that they need to have a press preview so we can walk around and take pictures.
We have more pictures below of some of the off-sites that we did not get a chance to check out due to long lines and insane wait times. One of them was Abbott Elementary. We attended their offsite last year and it was one of the best ones we have been to. We thought this year was going to be just as fun and maybe more epic. We read how people waited more than 8 hours to get in when they were in line before 7am. When they finally go in, there were more lines to wait in to get free swag. They ran out of pin sets early on. They were giving out bucket hats and boombox bags. Apparently they had people embroidering names on to the hats etc... which takes up a lot of time. Too much time and they should've just handed out sticker labels that says Property of _______ and have someone sharpie in people's names.
We got a lot of free ice cream this year from IT: Welcome to Derry, Twisted Metal and Thunderbolts. We skipped the long line for the Lilo & Stitch activation which had photo ops, Shaved Ice and Dole Whip which was given out at certain times of the day.
It's another SDCC in the books for us. We had a great time as usual. It was fun yet tiring at the same time. It does take a few days after the show to decompress, catch up on sleep and slowly get back to the normal daily routines / day job.
All the activations that we were able to check out, we posted about them on our blog and you can catch more coverage on our Instagram.
Shout out to my volunteer team (friends) for the help this year.
