The first reveal from 12 Days of Sideshow was epic!

This enormous Phoenix and Jean Grey Maquette will make an impressive centerpiece for any X-Men themed collection!

Tristan Eaton Launches Comprehensive Generative Art Collection entitled G.E.M.M.A.

Los Angeles, CA (January 4, 2022) - With his entry into the metaverse, Tristan Eaton has once again proven his artistic prowess, dedication to his craft, and sheer business sensibilities. While many dove headfirst into the world of NFTs space during the initial wave, producing content based on volume, Eaton waited until he had crafted truly unique ways to contribute to the digital art space. As a highly respected multi-disciplinary artist perhaps best known for his murals around the world, it made perfect sense that Eaton would take his work into the metaverse, but as a true innovator, Eaton prioritized revolutionizing the space, and has continued to do so with each drop.

Designer Con 2021 Recap

Designer Con 2021 had their own virtual con during the summer but they also had their in-person event held at the Anaheim Convention Center in November. There were still a good amount of exhibitors, artists etc... in attendance. Overall with how things have been regarding the health and safety protocols, the show was held and it was a solid event despite a lot of uncertainty with traveling and covid. Looking forward to all the shows that can be safely attended this year. Here's a link to our DCon Photos HERE. Enjoy!

A Look Back at Summer Slime 4

Photos by M.D.

One of the first in-person events for 2021 was Summer Slime 4 hosted by Creature Bazaar. Summer Slime usually takes place during SDCC. SDCC was still a virtual convention back in July. Virtual cons aren't the best but given the circumstances it is what it is most shows had to do virtual cons or cancel/postpone in-person events until things were better. Check out our event coverage in our album HERE.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! Welcome to 2022! 2021 was slightly better than 2020 but there is still some uncertainty with all these covid variants. Towards the end of 2021 conventions and shows were being held. Our team opted to attend a couple of events this year as things have opened back up. A lot of things have changed in the past couple of years since the pandemic regarding our coverage of shows etc...We've been covering and posting a lot less in the past 2 years but hoping that we get this site back on track and that we can attend more shows this year. Collecting wise, we've probably collected less than in previous years. Have you been collecting more or less in the past 2 years?

Here's to 2022 being better for the convention/show industry and that we can safely attend shows like we did before the pandemic.

"Eight Decades of Archie" to Open Comic-Con Museum

COMIC-CON MUSEUM TO LAUNCH EIGHT DECADES OF ARCHIE EXHIBIT

Comic-Con Museum Will Open Its Doors At This Year’s Comic-Con Special Edition Event Beginning Friday, November 26

Archie Comics will join Comic-Con International in launching their new Comic-Con Museum as one of the first exhibits as part of this weekend’s Comic-Con Special Edition in San Diego. “Eight Decades of Archie” will celebrate 80 years of Archie Comics and Riverdale hijinks. This world-premiere exhibition celebrates both the vast cultural legacy of Archie Comics over its 80-year span and the enduring appeal of its ever-evolving cast of typical American teenagers. Attendees will be welcomed to Riverdale through vintage comic books, original art, unique props and other exclusive memorabilia, all built to delight both the most ardent and casual Archie fans.

“It’s a joy to be able to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Archie Comics with Comic-Con International,” said Archie Comics CEO/Publisher Jon Goldwater. “The Archie Comics characters are an integral part of the global pop-culture tapestry and have inspired multiple generations of fans and readers since the early 1940s. The ‘Eight Decades of Archie’ exhibit is the perfect way to showcase Archie’s massive historical impact and the continued relevance of these characters and stories.”

"It's such an honor to be working on this Eight Decades Of Archie pop-up as part of the Comic-Con Museum's inaugural season" said Patrick A. Reed, the exhibition's chief curator. "Given the longstanding relationship between Archie and Comic-Con, I can't imagine a better venue in which to tell this story – and do so in a way that engages both casual fans and long-time Archie aficionados!"

The Comic-Con Museum, which will celebrate the magic of Comic-Con year-round, is announcing its soft opening to the public on November 26 at noon. Located in San Diego's iconic Balboa Park the Museum is featuring six diverse, entertaining, educational and interactive exhibits. Special programming, screenings and a variety of special nighttime activities will be offered leading up to the summer of 2022 grand opening which will also feature the “Eight Decades of Archie” exhibit.

The soft opening of the Museum will occur while Comic-Con Special Edition – the first in-person gathering for San Diego Comic-Con fans since July 2019 – begins at the San Diego Convention Center. However, while Comic-Con Special Edition ends on Nov. 28, the Museum experience will continue throughout the year. Tickets for the Museum, available at https://museum.comic-con.org,will also be sold at the Museum; reservations are encouraged as attendance may be limited.
