REVIEW: Unboxing Loot Crate October 2014 - FEAR

A couple of days late but here is our Review & Unboxing of the October 2014 Loot Crate with the theme being FEAR. Our photos are intentionally dark as they were taken outside at night with minimal lighting. We didn't receive our crate early enough to add more spooky elements so this will have to do with the time that we had. We were actually traveling to cover shows on Halloween. Anyways, pretty sure you've all seen the contents of the FEAR Loot Crate. If not, well then sit back and relax and follow along as we unbox the October Loot Crate!

What a World Series! The Royals were tough but somehow the Giants pulled it off when it counted the most. Congratulations to the San Francisco Giants on their 2014 World Series Win! Bumgarner was amazing and is in a league of his own. Who's going to SF for the parade tomorrow? It's going to be a party tomorrow with over 1 million people attending.

Jinja The Soapstone Lion for Charity

Jake Manion who works at Aardman and his girlfriend will be doing a charity bike ride in November from Uganda to Kenya where they will be raising money for The Kenyan Orphan Project. To help them raise money, they have had a ton of help from Aardman and decided to design a vinyl toy. Instead of the toy being made out of vinyl, they are being hand-carved out of soapstone by Geoffrey in Kenya.

People who donate money will get one of these back. Only 30 of these will be made available as of right now as this is how many they can put in their luggage and take back. If the demand exceeds 30 they will figure something out.

This Thursday, October 30th, they will be auctioning 8 customs Jinja The Lion in resin by the following artists on ebay:

Universal Monsters Action Figures Stop Motion Animated Short Film

 
Diamond Select Toys sent us over their First ever Universal Monsters Action Figures Stop Motion Animated Short Film title "Trick or Treat".

"Trick or Treat" was animated by Alex Kropinak, the animator behind Marvel.com's "What The...?!" Using a combination of stop-motion photography and computer graphics, Kropinak brought to life the actual action figures, sculpted by Gabriel Marquez, Rudy Garcia and Jean St. Jean. The film's cast includes the Mummy, the Wolfman, Dr. Jekyll, Mr. Hyde, the Creature from the Black Lagoon, Frankenstein's Monster, the Bride of Frankenstein, Dracula and the Metaluna Mutant.

Kropinak even included a cameo appearance by Diamond Select's first-ever  original concept action figure, Van Helsing. Designed by DST President Chuck Terceira and sculptor Jean St. Jean, the famous monster hunter received his own 7-inch scale figure this year, which was released at the same time as the newest Universal Monsters assortment. The film was co-written by Kropinak and DST Marketing Supervisor Zach Oat, who previously collaborated on ToyFare magazine's Twisted ToyFare Theatre.

NFL Teenymates Series 2 Mini Figures

From Party Animal Toys is NFL Teenymates Series 2 Mini Figure. These are blind packed figures so you have to keep buying to collect all 32 teams plus 6 new rare figures. Each pack comes with 2 running backs, 2 puzzle pieces and a checklist. When you collect at 35 pieces of the puzzles there are 2 different sides. Side A is the Collector Mini Poster and on Side B is the Football Field Playset. The puzzle size when all the pieces are put together is 5"x7".

As you can see we got the Giants and Browns for the mini figures and for the puzzle pieces we got the Jets and Broncos.

Despicable Me Minion Surprise Mini Figures

Thinkway Toys x Despicable Me Minion Surprise figures. These are blind bagged as well. Just like the Despicable Me 2 Minion Surprise figures that we talked about here back in 2013. Seems like stores received these not too long ago. At first they look to be the same but if you look closely it was missing the 2 and the back of the packaging showed different figures. It can be a bit confusing seeing as how these were released fairly recently after the Despicable Me 2 Minion Surprise figures. Retail on these are $2.99 each.
