WooHoo! The Kickstarter Superplastic's Janky figures arrived in time for Christmas. Most people who backed the Kicksterter for Superplastic received their figures by Christmas. Superplastic's JANKY Art Toys Kickstarter is LIVE!

Superplastic just launched their JANKY Limited Edition Art Toys on Kickstarter. Superplastic is a new company founded by Paul Budnitz (founder of Kidrobot) and artist Huck Gee. They have already surpassed their goal. There are many artists who have contributed to the first series. Lots of different pledge rewards as well as add-ons. Jakks Pacific's Disney Tsum Tsum Mini Stacking Figures Series 1

Jakks Pacific just released the Disney Tsum Tsum Mini Stacking Figures Series 1 in Target stores this month. These came out in time for Christmas. These are already flying off shelves and the price points on these is $4.99 for the 3-Pack and $14.99 for the 9-Pack. As with a lot of figures/toys in general there are going to be some paint issues. Obviously if you're buying these for kids then they could care less about the paint since they will be opening them up and playing with them. If you can't find them in stores now, we were told that they should be hitting other retailers starting next year. For the month of December, Target has the exclusive release on these.

Preview Paul Kaiju's Get a Life Gobocon! Mini Figure Series

Preview Paul Kaiju's upcoming mini figure series called Get a Life Gobocon! Series 1 in wax From left to right the figures are Gobocon, Cat Girl, Chuto & Machinegun Ghost.

Gobocon is a zombie robot from the future who requires Goboroot for fuel.
Cat Girl is moderator of all times.
Chuto is a post "great war" friend and confidant of Gobocon, from further in the future than Gobocon!
Machinegun Ghost is a gangster monster from the earth past.

Paul's inspiration for this mini figure set was a rare Rockbat Mini Set from the collection of Warren Schwartz in the pic above.

Quote from PK- "I though it would be cool to combine 70's Tokusatsu shows such as ROBOCON and ROCKBAT with something part "Terminator" and part early "Outer Limits" combined with these cute Tokusatsu shows, including "off" elements from across time, and this is what came out of the sculpt session. 

A total love letter to Tokustatsu of Japan and the bottomless pit that got me here in the first place.

The island they inhabit, is surely nuts. I can't wait to come up with more."

Love it when artists shares their inspiration(s) for a project and can't wait for these to be released. These are scheduled to be released in 2014.
