LAIKA LIVE Comes to San Diego

LAIKA LIVE San Diego is back 3 Times bigger than it was last year. Last year's installation was awesome despite the long wait time in line.

Creators of Coraline, ParaNorman, The Boxtrolls, Kubo and the Two Strings and Upcoming Missing Link Take Over Gaslamp Quarter Storefront With All New and Expansive Exhibit. Their also celebrating their 10th Anniversary of Coraline as well as Pride Week and Comic Con of course. LAIKA LIVE starts July 13th to the 22nd. Free Admission and located in the Gaslamp area. The LAIKA Experience at SDCC 2017

The LAIKA Experience was one of the things we really wanted to see. With everything at SDCC, this was a 3-Hour wait and we were there early too. At least it wasn't an 8+ hour wait. This was the last day of SDCC and was a must see before we left San Diego.

If you ever get the chance to see the LAIKA Experience in your city or state, we highly recommend it, especially if you've wondered how Stop-Motion Animation is made. The sets to make these animated movies are so detailed and intricate. Just jaw dropping!

Mondo's The Boxtrolls 2XLP Release

Continuing in the tradition of CORALINE & PARANORMAN, we're honored to present the soundtrack to Laika's third animated gem: THE BOXTROLLS, available for the first time on vinyl. Composed by Dario Marianelli, and featuring songs by Loch Lomond, the soundtrack perfectly captures the whimsical & frantic energy of the fictional world of Cheesebridge, where a human boy raised by trash-collecting trolls must stop a sinister exterminator from his selfish campaign to rid the town of the titular scavengers. The record will go on sale at a random time tomorrow, April 7th.

Build Your Own Boxtrolls Contest

The Boxtrolls is a new stop-motion animated movie that will hit theaters in September 2014. The Boxtrolls is by Focus Features and LAIKA. They brought us Paranorman and Coraline.

In anticipation of the movie coming out, Focus Features & LAIKA is inviting you to build your own Boxtroll and you can enter your creation in their contest. One Grand prize winner's Boxtroll will be brough to life as a real puppet by LAIKA artists and there will also be prizes for 10 First Runner Ups & 15 Second Runner Ups.
