Super7 Godzilla Station Pop-Up at SDCC 2025 Recap

Super7 always has one of the most creative offsites / pop-ups during SDCC. This year they transformed their San Diego store location into the Godzilla Station. They put up a temporary facade featuring Godzilla attacking the train station and always dope artwork on the side of their store. Inside the pop-up featured exclusive Toho Godzilla merchandise. There were exclusive apparel and collectibles. They had a signing with Director Shinji Higuchi. There were lines every day they were opened for SDCC. By Saturday, the store looked pretty empty. One of the sought after items is the Godzilla Station coin which you could pick up at their booth inside the convention center or at their pop-up. See pics below of their pop-up.

An Exclusive Installation Commemorating Spider-Man's 60th Anniversary Set to Premiere at San Diego's Comic-Con Museum on July 1

SAN DIEGO, June 22, 2022 -- Marvel's Spider-Man: Beyond Amazing – The Exhibition will be a new significant installation at the Comic-Con Museum celebrating Marvel's friendly neighborhood Super Hero's 60th anniversary. The installation will debut on July 1st with advanced tickets on sale now from Fever.

Comic Con @ Home 2020

First of all WELCOME BACK to a blog that's taken a small hiatus. This past 6+ months of 2020 has been an emotional roller coaster of emotions for everyone. When the pandemic started, we started to work more and more hours at our part time job which was essential. The hours we worked were full time or even more than that if we could handle 6+ days a week. So many people were affected by temporary layoffs which resulted in filing for unemployment. This year has been nothing but a pretty horrible year. All if not most shows and conventions from March till now have been cancelled. So many things that can go wrong has pretty much gone wrong. From working so many hours and getting injured on the job to just being burnt out at work. It's really taken a toll on a lot of people and the fact that the pandemic is not over and the spreading of the coronavirus still continues. Anyways, during some time off work being injured, we're glad CCI decided to hold a virtual SDCC 2020 or as it's called Comic Con @ Home!

We really enjoyed the panels being online and you can still watch some of them on the Comic Con YouTube Channel. The panels being online is what helped ease some of the pain of not being in San Diego for Comic Con physically this year. We rarely get to go and watch panels during comic con because there's always way too much things to do and we're either on the show floor or experiencing some of the offsite events. We were able to watch panels at our own time and leisure. You can pause it and go back later etc...

There was still exclusives to be purchased and still a lot of fun in trying to get exclusives from some of the big name companies this year. A slight difference is that you didn't have to try and lug around all your exclusives back to your hotel. Just sit at your computer on your phone and try to buy your exclusive toy, print, collectible etc... Once you purchase your exclusive, just have to wait for them to ship to you. Easy peasy!

There were a lot of online activities that CCI still had such as the masquerade, gaming, art show, portfolio reviews, watch parties etc... that were all virtual but it was better than nothing. Amazon and FX had their own virtual con or activities that they'd normally would have during comic con. A lot of companies held their own mini cons of their "booth" and showed off new items and exclusives that would normally be seen during comic con.

Like so many of you, we just want to go back to the way it was before the pandemic. How long will it take before this virus gets controlled and when will there be a vaccine?

Thank you to CCI for bringing us Comic Con @ Home! Thanks to all the artists, vendors and everyone that participated to make this year's SDCC feel just a little bit like we were all in sunny San Diego experiencing all the fun. The one thing we didn't mind this year was the crowds and no lines! We still miss saying "Hi" to familiar faces and con friends that we usually only see during various comic cons. Next year's date for SDCC is July 22-25 (July 21st is Preview night). Until next year friends, let's just hope that with so many things going on in the world and the USA right now, we can overcome all of this and come out stronger and better. We're all hoping for a way better 2021! Take care, stay safe, wear a mask and keep collecting!!!

The Nightmare Before Christmas 25th Anniversary Pop-Up Experience

The Nightmare Before Christmas 25th Anniversary Pop-Up Experience which also featured The Many Faces of Jack Skellington. This was a surprise during SDCC. Found out about this the day of the pop-up experience had opened and had to go and check it out since it was only there for a few days. It was held outdoors and they showed a selection of custom Jack Skellington heads by various artists. There was also a special magical tree that when you peered inside, you could see Christmas Town. See our pictures below:

LAIKA LIVE! San Diego

LAIKA LIVE San Diego was held during SDCC and we were lucky to get into the Media Event on Preview Night during SDCC. The media event let us in to check out the exhibit inside and there was food and drinks offered to us as well. We got to check out the merchandise and of course a piece of the set of the new movie Missing Link which is scheduled to hit theaters in the Spring of 2019. We also got to meet Mr. Link himself waiting for us to get our pictures taken with him. The lines were long every day for this and it is well worth the wait if you love LAIKA and Stop Motion Animation. Check out our pictures below.

This experience is one of the best outside events during SDCC.

The LAIKA Experience at SDCC 2017

The LAIKA Experience was one of the things we really wanted to see. With everything at SDCC, this was a 3-Hour wait and we were there early too. At least it wasn't an 8+ hour wait. This was the last day of SDCC and was a must see before we left San Diego.

If you ever get the chance to see the LAIKA Experience in your city or state, we highly recommend it, especially if you've wondered how Stop-Motion Animation is made. The sets to make these animated movies are so detailed and intricate. Just jaw dropping!
