The Toy Box: RxH Mini Tanuki

Today's toy from the Toy Box is RxH's (Real x Head) Mini Tanuki x3. These are Japanese Raccoon Dogs. 3.5 inches tall. Couldn't pass these up when they popped up at a U.S. retailer. It's definitely hard to get these unless you are living in Japan. The ones shown above are Brown with white eyes, Pink & Brown with yellow eyes.

From Wikipedia, The legendary Tanuki has eight special traits that bring good fortune. They are:

• a hat to be ready to protect against trouble or bad weather;
• big eyes to perceive the environment and help make good decisions;
• a sake bottle that represents virtue;

Chima Group's Wool Customs for LOFT

Chima Group announced that they will also have custom Wools for LOFT. They have a little wind-up key on their backs for looks only. Really cool idea! Oh yeah, the Wools aren't working wind-ups. Maybe they should make a real working one!?!

Lulubell's Mighty Morphin' Grody Mash-up Show

Lulubell's Mighty Morphin' Grody Mash-up Show opens on Friday, September 14th at 6pm. The show opening was previously a week earlier.

Lulubell Toy Bodega presents Mighty Morphin' Grody Mash-up Show. Opening Friday September 14th as a part of Mesa's Second Friday Night Out. Featuring custom mash-up Grody Shogun figures by artists from all over. Submissions must include some Grody Shogun pieces and will be accepted all month & released every Saturday. No maximum on entries.

Many artists are already involved, but you still have a chance to be a part of this awesome show. Just make a custom that contains Grody Shogun parts. Come in to the shop for more information or email amy@lulubelltoys.com

Preview Splurrt's Mecha Brain Cadaver Kid for TAG's Anniversary Show

The Toy Box: Shawnimals' Pocket Pork Dumplings

Today's toy in the Toy Box is Shawnimals' Pocket Pork Dumplings Series 1. These are blind box figures so you don't know which one you'll get. I got the regular/original Pocket Pork Dumpling and the Ninja version. There are 12 different designs in this series. 9 main ones and 3 chase figures. One of the chase figures is hand-signed/doodled. They are 1.5" tall. These were produced by My Plastic Heart & Squibbles Ink. You can purchase them as a single blind box for $6.50 each or as a case of 16 for $103.99 at My Plastic Heart.

FCTRY x Jason Freeny's CAPSLs Series 1 was recently released. These are keychains that are interchangeable and you can even store stuff inside. Pretty cool!

There are 12 different designs in Series 1. There are also special edition releases coming soon too. If you purchase a full set which includes all 12 of the original designs plus 3 blind boxes for $99 HERE, you will also get a free Limited Edition Medicine Man which is limited to 300pcs. You can't buy this one separately.

You can purchase Series 1 separately for $7.99 each except for Medicine Man.

Kidrobot x The Simpsons Homer Buddha

Kidrobot x The Simpsons Homer Buddha will be released on September 6th for $50 at Kidrobot Stores, online and select retailers. 7" tall. Comes with pretzel & beads. Awesome packaging too!

If you missed the SDCC release, this is your chance to get one. This is a really cool piece to have especially if you're a Simpsons Fan. Package Design and the figure itself looks great! Totally down to get one!

The Toy Box: Kidrobot's Faster Higher Stronger 'Bots

Today's toy from The Toy Box is Kidrobot's Faster Higher Stronger 'Bots. I don't purchase as much Kidrobot toys as I used to. It's mostly due to changes in the direction that the collection has gone.

This was released to just in time for the Summer Olympics I'm guessing lol. The 'Bot is 3" tall. Limited to 2012. Comes with 2 accessories (dumbbell & syringe that says juice). These are still widely available at Kidrobot, Rotofugi and select retailers. Retails for $14.95. The paint on this one was pretty good.

Chima Group's Amedas Shinobi Customs for LOFT

Chima Group will have these new custom Amedas Shinobi (ninjas) for sale at the LOFT Artist Selection in Shibuya, Japan. There will be a total of 15 different artists selling at LOFT starting September 7th - October 3rd 2012.

If you are in Japan during the opening day (Sept. 7th), here is some info on how they will be letting you purchase items that day:

* About sale of (September 7) for the first day *
- The numbered ticket is distributed from 9:00 a.m.
- Can purchase the work in order of the numbered ticket
- Can purchase the work of 1 artist with 1 numbered ticket
- There are purchase restrictions depending on artist

These are awesome! I wonder what other customs Chima Group will have there.
