Super7 Drops Surprise Announcements & More at SDCC 2012

Super7 was back at SDCC this year and boy did they bring out lots of surprise announcements. Super7 was not playing when they said to expect surprises. Where should I start?

Super7 has teamed up with Hasbro and will be making Transformers products which includes prints, vinyl figures, drinking glasses, t-shirts & Super Shoguns of your favorite Transformers characters!!!!

If that wasn't enough, they're making Alien ReAction figures ( Retro action figures) that were never produced back in the day. They had the original prototypes from the line that never came to be on display. They will also be making collectible glasses. Pretty damn cool.
Oh and if you had the opportunity to stop by their booth, you could have your picture taken in front of the life-sized Alien Card back.
More announcements after the jump....

SDCC 2012 Super Magic Funtime Unit @ 5&A Dime

WOW! What can I say, Super Magic Funtime Unit was held at 5&A Dime. This event was put together by Lulubell featuring Grody Shogun, Paul Kaiju, Velocitron & Friends. Grody Shogun & Velocitron made it out from Japan.

The show was awesome and well put together. There were over 100 people at the event and people spilled into the streets. There was food and free drinks (if your of age that is). The only one issue was with the line order thing on how people were supposed to purchase. It was stated that when you got there you would pick your line order out of a hat/container etc... and that would tell you where you'd be in line.

At the last minute, not sure if this was because after all the tickets were picked that more people showed up that they decided to go the raffle route so basically if you had the lower numbers to get in first you were screwed until they called your number. They re-wrote numbers on sheets of paper and threw them in a bag and called out numbers one by one.

That was the only problem. I think they should've just left it the way it was before switching and that everyone who came later would have to wait since the people who picked the numbers out of the hat/container were there on time when the tickets were being picked.

Besides that, it was pretty cool to have a personal shopper help you get the items you want. There was a great selection of Grody, Velocitron, Paul Kaiju goodies. There were also customs by RealxHead, Pico Pico, Itokin Park & Skinner which all were great. Oh yeah and can't forget the yummy monster rice krispie treats that had gummy worms and eyeballs in them lol.

I hope Lulubell decides to do this again next year. The only suggestion is to figure out how they let people in etc...ahead of time and stick to it.

Check out a few pics from the show in the photo album slideshow below.

SDCC 2012 Gargamel, Grasshut, Mitari, Misty Fog Toys

Gargamel was back at SDCC this year. They almost cancelled making the trip out but luckily they didn't. There wasn't too many new production releases besides the Pocket Hedoran, Pocket FU Robo & 2 set of Micros that were released on their side of the booth. There was plenty of customs to last all 4+ days. They also brought some vintage toys as well.

Misty Fog Toys brought Mega Junktions and drink Koozies
Mitari brought Mitari-Chans & Butanohana mini figure sets.

Grasshut had a lot of things going on from items from Grumble Toy.

Le Merde with his custom resin figures and resin Le Mini-Verse figures as well as pins/coasters etc...

Bwana Spoons had a slew of customs for sale. Painted Randall exclusive, Chocolate Killers (edible), prints, shirts and all kinds of different goodies.

Lucky Nakazawa had prints of his FU Robo and of course Gargamel was releasing his latest version at the show too.

Scrappers had his custom Owl Kahanmoku and El Capitan figures. In collaboration with Gargamel, Scrappers debuted his newest figure Hobart.

SDCC 2012 - Frankenweenie

One of the best things at SDCC this year was the Frankenweenie exhibits. There were 2 different exhibits. The outdoor one was hosted by HGTV which was located across the street in the Gaslamp area and this exhibit was called the Electrifying Garden. When you enter throug the gates, they give you a Frankenweenie Reusable Tote Bag which had a Frankenweenie Glow stick. Before you enter into the dark exhibit, you are given a pack of seeds to plant your own flowers. When you exit the exhibit you are given a Frankenweenie Sparky Pin.

The exhibit inside the convention was AWESOME! They had on display the sets that they used to make the movie. I could just stare at all the intricate details and was just so blown away.

Pictures of the freebies as well as the photo album slideshow of both exhibits after the jump.

SDCC 2012 Pictures from Around the Con

Well finally uploaded a ton of pictures. Included pictures from inside and outside the convention center. Even some toy pics snuck in there as well. I think there's well over 700 pictures alone that will be in this album.
Don't want to scare you but if you are attending SDCC next year for the first time be prepared for LONG LINES for pretty much everything. There are also multiple lines for different things so always ask someone what they're in line for before you get in line.

Recovering From SDCC 2012

SDCC 2012 Recap Coverage Starts in the next Post!!!!

Sorry for the lack of updates and coverage during the con. There was literally so much to see and do both inside and outside the convention that you really only had a couple of hours of sleep if any at all. Was so exhausted after the con ended and just needed time to sleep and recover.
