Big WOW! ComicFest 2014 Recap

This was our first year attending the Big WOW! ComicFest at the San Jose Convention Center. We were pretty impressed with the show. This definitely fills the void of not having Wondercon. The best things at the show were the Famous Monsters booth, The Batman Museum, The Batmobile, BTTF Deloreon and the Ghostbusters Ecto-1. Boom! Studios & IDW were a couple of comic publishers with a booth at the show. There were tons of Funko POP! and Mystery Mini figures at multiple booths. Psycho Donuts was also there with their interesting donuts and cakepops! They were stationed outside of the exhibit hall. Big WOW! ComicFest was a good show. They had some great panels too. Overall, it was a good, quality show!

May The 4th Be With You Event at Super7 Recap

A bit delayed in getting this up but better late than never. We were at Super7's May The 4th Be With You event. By the time we got there, the event had started. We saw a few stormtroopers crossing the street and making their way to the event as we rolled passed looking for parking. The Stormtroopers were out in force standing guard outside Super7. They were definitely attracting a lot of attention from people walking by, driving by and especially the tour buses that rolled through the streets. Super7 was packed! Always a great event to attend! Guardians of the Galaxy Mystery Mini Bobble-Heads

Funko x Marvel will be releasing the Guardians of the Galaxy Mystery Minis Bobble-Heads this June! There's a 1/12 chance to your favorite character such as Star-Lord, Drax, Glow in the Dark Drax, Nebula, Glow in the Dark Nebula, Rocket Raccoon, Ronan the Accuser, Gamora, and Groot.

True Blood POP! Vinyl Figures

True Blood POP! Vinyl Figures from Funko will be hitting store this July! Pick up Sookie Stackhouse, Eric Northman, Alcide Herveaux, Lafayette Reynolds, Pam Swynford De Beaufort and
Bill Compton. Bill Compton will be released a little later than everyone else.

Bwana Spoons' 5th International Globby Day

We had the idea of flocking Globby’s sweater, but getting the head back on without damaging the flock was too tricky, so the idea got abandoned… creating a pretty rare Globby.
 
Now the rarest of rare. If I get 50 individual sales I will be giving this Globby prototype away. This was made by StrangeCo way back. There is only one. I figure this is a longshot giveaway as I only get 50 customers in a day…. very rarely… usually only a couple times a year. But… if enough people pass this info around and follow thru tomorrow… some lucky nut will get this Globby. And no, if it’s not raffled off, he will not be for sale. just want to do something special for tomorrow’s 5th international Globby day.

Neca's Pacific Rim "End Titles" Jaeger Action Figure 3-Pack SDCC 2014 Exclusive

Neca announced their second SDCC 2014 exclusive which will be Pacific Rim's "End Titles" Jaeger Action Figure 3-Pack. Limited to 5000 pieces worldwide. 7" Tall and the visors area glows in the dark. The price per set is $60 and comes in a collectible packaging with embossed & foil-printed slipcase.

It contains black-colored, high-gloss-finish action figures of Gipsy Danger, Crimson Typhoon, and Striker Eureka, packaged and positioned in the same formation seen in the credits. The 7″ Jaegers also have glow-in-the-dark paint effects on their “visors” (or conn-pod windows).

The background insert and printing on the acetate window utilize the same graphics created by Imaginary Forces in rendering this scene for the film. The window box is covered with a protective slipcover featuring an embossed foil-printed insignia of the Pan Pacific Defense Corps.

For those unable to attend Neca will be releasing a limited amount inside and outside the U.S. before SDCC. Details TBA.

Mattel just announce 3 more SDCC 2014 Exclusive. They announced the Batman Arkham Knight Batmobile for $85.

This Godzilla figure represents the monster from his third motion picture when Godzilla fights the world famous monster, King Kong, in Japan. This 12” figure is slightly larger than the rest of the collection, and shows off the unique reptilian face, bulkiness, and coarse texture. 

 

Godzilla 1968

The collectible features Godzilla from his twentieth picture where 11 Kaiju monsters form the Kaiju Army Corps that protects Earth from the space monster King Ghidorah. In 1970 Japan was attacked by smog monster Hedorah, who represented the rising problem of environmental pollution, in which Godzilla helped conquer. This psychedelic colored sludge beast is heavier than regular Godzilla figures, representing the fictional and realistic monsters that Japan has had to overcome.
